Description
Hangar 24 began its craft brewing exploration with a true passion for good beer, the absolute love of flying and the pure enjoyment of being around great friends. My buddies and I used to meet at hangar No. 24 at the Redlands Municipal Airport, after an afternoon of flying, to trade stories, talk aviation, play music and share a few cold ones that were recently home brewed. These days, the location of where the beers are brewed has changed, but the quality time spent enjoying a delicious, handcrafted beer and conversation with friends is the same as ever. I personally want to invite you to join the adventure. Cheers! Ben Cook.

Pour is a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is at first a nice spruce that give this a wintergreen smell. Also some cinnamon and other various spices are detected. Flavor is a decent spice with more of the spruce showing. Reminds me of a evergreen forest. Pretty good beer. Everything in a winter warmer you are looking for. Not overly spiced or heavy just a jumble of flavors that get better as the beer warms.

Bottle. Pours cloudy chestnut, small beige head, dissipates fairly quickly, decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is rich caramel, toffee, some vinous qualities, a bit of oakiness, dark fruits. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter, a fair amount of acidity, sharp, vinous, dark sugars and dried fruits, oak tannins, grapevines, a bit earthy. Lingering sharp bitterness and some alcohol heat. Medium body.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of fruit. Apricot’s I guess. It’s been a while since I’ve had a fresh one. Flavor is a nice and fresh apricot fruitiness with a bit of citric tartness after the swallow. Not your typical fruity wheat beer with some artificial flavoring added. This is real, fresh and flavorful.

12oz can pours with a clear pale gold body that supports a thin white head. The aroma offers up mild levels of sugary bready malts, a dash of lime and then floral hops. The taste starts with sweet sugary malts, a sweetened lime note and then a sliver of breadiness. Pretty solid helles.

Bottle shared by savnac at Anchorage Dec ’14 Tasting: Poured a black brown with a ring of light brown head. Aroma was strong mix of dark fruit, licorice, bourbon, boozy and oak. Taste is complex with bourbon, dark fruit, vanilla, roasted and sweet malts. I wish they distro’d to Anchorage because I have never been displeased with any Hangar 24 beers.
