Country Boy Brewing was founded in 2012 by three native Kentuckians with a passion for great craft beer. Country Boy prides itself on making minimally processed beers with high quality, real ingredients. Their passion for great beer shines through their core brands, Cougar Bait American Blonde Ale and Shotgun Wedding Vanilla Brown Ale. Their recent expansion to Georgetown, KY with the largest production brewery in the state will allow them to can their popular Cliff Jumper IPA and Halfway Home Pale Ale, in addition to several seasonal offerings.

Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #34. Draft at the brewery. Pours a clear pale amber color with a medium sized frothy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of heavy clove and banana and earthy hops. The taste is pale wheat, mild banana, herbal hops. Thin-medium bodied.

Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #33. Draft at the brewery. Pours a hazy yellow color with a thin frothy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of wheat, corn, white bread, mild hops. The taste is corn, pale malts, mild fruits and hops. Medium bodied, decent balance. I guess this is their offering for the macro crowd, and in that role it’s actually pretty decent.

13 oz tulip draft at Four Pegs Beer Lounge in Louisville, Kentucky. The pour is a hazed orange golden with a small white head. The aroma is faint initially,served quite cold. As the beer warmed, soft tropical fruit came out. The taste is pineapple fruit, fresh grass hay hop notes and a nice biscuit malt character. nice dank character kicks in as the beer warms. The palate is light bodied with low natural carbonation and a clean dry finish.

Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #21. Draft at the brewery. Pours a dark brown color with a thin creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of big bourbon notes, vanilla, tart cherries, wood and a mild buttery note. The taste is bourbon, vanilla, wood, cherries, chocolate, roasted malts. Medium bodied, heat is well hidden.

Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #20. Draft at the brewery. Pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a thin creamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of resin, tropical, citrus hops and pale malts. The taste is bitter citrus and resin hops, citrus pith, pale malt. Medium bodied, slight lingering bitterness.

Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #17. Draft at the brewery. Let’s fall in love with music, the driving force of our times! Pours a hazy dark amber color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of strong vanilla, doughy malts and a bit of toast. Comes across a lot like a plain glazed doughnut. The taste is vanilla, toasted malts, herbal hops. Medium bodied.

Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #15. Draft at the brewery. Buffalo Trace barrels. Pours a very dark brown color with a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, mild roast. The taste is chocolate, bourbon, roasted malts, wood, booze, vanilla. Medium bodied, decent balance, fairly hot.
