Description
The brewery was founded in May 2007 under the name Quercus Devon Ales in Churchstow, Devon. In 2011 new owners took over the brewery till 2016.

In September 2016 the business was purchased by a consortium led by city insurance specialist John Tiner and his wife Geraldine. They changed its name to the current one. In 2017 the brewery moved to the current location.

Salcombe Brewery Co. has stunning views towards the Salcombe Ria. The innovative new brewery is a unique concept situated above a decommissioned water reservoir, utilising the natural ambient temperature of the underground facility, making the brewery as energy efficient as possible. Together with the surrounding nature and views towards Salcombe, itโ€™s a great place for local and visiting customers to enjoy.

28/4/2020. Bottle from Darts Farm near Topsham, Devon. Pours very dark brown with a deep dark cherry tint and a small bubbly beige head. Aroma of liquorice, strong black coffee, dark chocolate and a BFG edge. Moderate sweetness and a light roasted bitterness. Lacks a bit of body but still enjoyed it.

Bottle at home โ€“ from Home & Bargain Has a faint malty aroma. Pours orange-yellow with a small transient white head. Well carbonated. In the mouth the overwhelming taste is that of lucozade (!) though there are malts and biscuit flavours there too. Finish is pretty sickly โ€“ like barley sugar combined with olive oil. Wonโ€™t be having this one again !

Cask at Sun, Stafford Pours a golden yellow with a small white head and good lacing. Nose is just a vague hint of lemon. Taste is spongey and fruity โ€“ like a bakewell tart ? Also plenty of grains and creamy texture followed by a dry and bitter finish. Not particularly memorable.

Cask pint, hand-pulled in the lovely Imperial, a Weherspoon's place in Exeter on 28th Sep 2019. Pale blonde body, full and lasting white head. Refreshing more than exciting, grassy/floral/hoppy nose, similar breakdown flavour wise, subtle citrus feel throughout.
