Unit 7, Bewdley Craft Centre, Lax Lane, Bewdley, DY12 2DZ, England
Description
We are a small group of people who are passionate about beer. So much so that we decided to bring a brewery back to Bewdley.
It has taken a lot of hard work and determination but we hope you'll agree it has all been worthwhile. Together we bring years of experience from within the industry and by just enjoying a good quality pint!
We brew on a 10 barrel plant which produces 2880 pints per brew. We have capacity to brew four times per week, and so this gives over half a million pints per year.
Wild River is our craft and keg arm of the brewery.

30th June 2015: cask, hand-pulled half-pint in the Rocklands Club, Redditch. Pump clip has no mention of the brewery, or Jubilee: had to ask who brewed it (checked online before adding). Slight haze to the light golden pour, on top a white crown that gave off some lacing. Light malts in the nose and flavour with a caramel, semi-sweet feel to the whole brew. OK, but nothing really special.

Bottle from Saucy Pears. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - dark chocolate, honeycomb, caramel. Taste - charcoal, dark chocolate, light honeycomb and dry caramel again. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet crunchy texture and a long dry roasty finish. Overall - the nose was more inviting than the taste.

Bottle from Saucy Pears. Appearance - hazy amber with a decent head. Nose - light sulphur, then crystal malt. Taste - light spice and dry biscuit. Toffee on the finish. Palate - light to medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - it’s not generous and it’s a bit gnarly but it’s definitely worth persisting with.

500ml bottle thanks to Ashton McCobb. Pours clear golden, thin white head. Aromas of toffee and a slightly stale note, wet cardboard. Taste is light toffee, light twiggy note. OK, if a bit dull.

Bottle from Saucy Pears. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Like their other beers it doesn’t hang around too long. Nose - toffee but with a dank cardboard note. Taste - toffee, faint biscuits and spice in there. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - a bit bland and concerning cardboard aroma.

Bottle from Saucy Pears. Appearance - amber. There’s a head initially but then it just gets tae. Nose - shandy, basically a malt drink with lemonade added. Taste - dry biscuits then lemon. Light caramel. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - it didn’t start well but it recovered somewhat.

Bottle from Saucy Pears. Appearance - golden with a head that quickly disappears. Nose - lemon pith and metallic notes. Taste - more of the same really. More citrus and still that metallic tang which I’d sometimes expect from a lager but not from an ale. Palate - light bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - not keen on the metallic note but it’s at least fairly balanced between malt and hops.

Bottle picked up at Saucy Pears, Worcester, Saturday 11th April 2015 consumed the same day at mum’s, Worcester. Pours mid gold with a slim white head atop. Dusty hops and a rather lacklustre beer in the mouth, dusty hops and a slightly tired dare I say boring flavour, the hops seem to have been used sparingly. Struggles to hit the giddy heights of merely being ok. A5 A3 T5 P3 Ov10 2.6
