Description
We, Sharp’s Brewery, are a modern brewer of cask and bottled beer based in Rock, Cornwall, and owner of the UK’s number one cask and bottled beer, Doom Bar. We’ve grown rapidly to become the largest brewer of cask beer in the South West.

Sharp's Brewery was founded in 1994 by Bill Sharp. The brewery has been through three phases – from a small micro brewery, to a larger facility within the same building and finally to the current phase that has seen the Brewery extend its premises to accommodate more vessels and increase its brewing capacity. Since 2011, the brewery has been owned by Molson Coors.

Cask Orange beer with a dull ochre shinge; B.C."H.". First UK hops nose, flowery, nettles, but all terribly subdued. Very fine hoppy & herbal flavour but with a total lack of maltbacking. Faint bitterness overall. Extremely light MF, watery texture. OK, this is British Cask ale, and it is suitably subtle. So, I’m not expecting an exploding MF from a USA hop bomb. But it is called IPA, yes. Please, look this up in the brewing dictionary...

Cask@The Hobgoblin, Reading Clear chestnut-red in colour with a trace of white head; an intense rich flavour with traces of stewed fruits and licorice leaving a warm afterglow.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 6 Oct) Golden yellow colour with white head. Malty nose with grassy hops, hay and timothy-grass (even some ensilage). Fruity taste with hay and grassy hops. Nice, bitter finish, some malt sweetness, but mainly dry. Easy to drink, and rather tasty.

Bottle given to me by my dad 17-10-06 said that he picked up a case of this and Eden Project at Majestic, Banbury . I poured this Loz said oohh... it looks just like Irn Bru which wasn’t a bad shout actually though it didn’t quite have the carbonation and wasn’t quite as orange as Irn Bru it had similarities. Aroma was a little hoppy and there was a trace of malts there as well, in the taste detected a touch of vanilla and then the malt again but also quite fruity. Tasted a little bit clinically clean and just a bit safe but quite enjoyable. Pours warm gold/light amber good clarity, thin white head. Good strength, touch of light burn on the tongue some honey and bitterness, very pleasant and a worlf of difference from the beer that I had before looking at my notes and not just in the strength, note this had 6% on the pumpclip. Very clear amber colour with only a filmy layer. Aroma of hops and caramel. The flavour starts with a sharp caramel taste turning into honey and ending with nice bitterness. Well rounded (very well kept half pint on cask at The Harp, 18.09.2006).

Bottled. Golden colour, not much head. Malts, and fruits in aroma. Flavour is citric, appleish and hoppy. Also alcohol is noteable as a small glueish/eggish mix in both flavour and aroma.

[Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival] Clear golden. Citric nose. Sweetish with clean but mellow mouthfeel. No hops detected, instead an abundance of alcohol. No bitterness. Top fermented malt liqour?
