Description
London Brewing Company was founded in 2011 in a small brewpub in Highgate called the Bull. It was here we honed our skills as one of London’s only Brewpubs, brewing cask ales primarily for sale on site.

In 2014 we purchased a warehouse sized pub in North Finchley called the Bohemia and had a 6.5 barrel (1000L) brew house installed at the rear of the premises. This pub has developed in to a social hub for the community, with a focused and popular beer range across both cask and keg.

Everything we do from food, events to great pubs is built around the brewery. Here we spend hours toiling, learning and experimenting to create hand-crafted drinks of the highest quality. Although our beers have won awards from CAMRA, SIBA and have been served as far away as Finland, Ireland, Scotland and America we are proudest to have our local London customers keep coming back for more.

Cask at the Bull brewpub. Clear reddy/ copper coloured pour with a lasting creamy head. Aroma is nice Heather and earthy honey, little candied toffee. Nice layers of detail on the nose with rustic leather and hint of smoke. Flavour is composed of light toffee and honey, lavender and just a whisker of citrus. Nice lacing on the glass. Palate is semi sweet and sessionable with very nice cask condition. A really hood example of the style, this beer is very sessionable and has nuance with every sip. Good cask beer served well is a joyous thing.

Cask at the Bull. Yellow / straw coloured pour with a lasting thin white head and a light haze. Aroma is fresh cereal grainy with a little straw and an herbal / floral hop note. Flavour is composed of light cereal, little grainy straw a faint citrus earthy hop character. I paired this beer with their spicy pig wings which brought out and highlighted the hop character quite nicely. Palate is light and easy going, little grain tannin and nicely cask conditioned. Really solid golden.

Cask at the brewpub. 5.2%. Clear mid amber coloured pour with a lasting loose sticky off white head. Aroma is caramel biscuity grains, nice resinous piney hop, little strawberry fruit on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of light caramel, grains, light sticky resinous hop, some hop candy. Ferment is nice a clean. Palate is semi sweet, little sticky on the tongue and a medium dry finish. Hop buttresses is mellow but firm and plays well against the little sweetness from the malt. Well made flavoursome beer.

Gravity cask at the London Drinker BF 2014. Pours clear, rich brown with a bubbly, off-white head. Lots of charcoal on the nose, some minerals, burnt wood, dry cocoa. Light sweet flavor with dominant minerality, burnt leaves, soggy earth and bittersweet cocoa. Medium bodied with fine fine carbonation. Finishes with lots of burnt leaves that have been dragged through mud, more flinty minerals, ash, wood, old leather. Precious little to enjoy here.
