Description
Multiple Award Winning Family-run Brewery based in Torbay, Devon!

Bays Brewery began in March 2007 when Will Freeland, Mark Salmon and Peter Salmon joined forces and signed a lease on an old 5000 square foot steel fabrication unit in Paignton. The transformation began towards the end of March and by the middle of June, after some considerable construction and installation works, it was running its first brew through the 20 barrel brew plant.

With Will Freeland’s experience as the head brewer at Skinners Brewery in Truro for ten years, Bays Brewery was quickly able to establish an efficient and consistent brewing regime.

Cask. Orangeish golden colour with a small slightly off-white head, that leaves some slight lace. Aroma is caramel malts, mild crystal malty notes as well as some nutty and wooden notes along with some mild floral notes. Flavour is being rather similar, but the wooden notes are more evident than they are in the aroma,

[Cask at the First and Last, Penzance] Deep amber with a moderate creamy head and a slight fizz. Dominated by a woodland mulch flavour, this is surprisingly dry and refreshing for a darker bitter. A lasting dry, bitter finish with a hint of pepper. Nice, and a little bit different.

[Cask at the First and Last, Penzance] Golden amber with a moderate white head and moderate fizz. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel; a mild citrus flavour and a slightly dry finish. Not a lot to it, but certainly very easy to drink; you could quickly knock back a few of these!
