Crafty Brands (SXOLLIE Xider)

Cidery in Grabouw, Western Cape, South Africa 🇿🇦

Contact
Grabouw, South Africa
Description
Not quite sure where this brewery is actually based.

A now merged brewery came in as being from Nederburg, South Africa but the 'Crafty Brands' located there is permanently closed, according to Google Maps, whereas the website seems quite alive.

Another address that I found is "Wildepaardejacht, Klein Drakenstein, Nederburg", but that's on a different location.

Both locations are in the city of Paarl, but the one I merged into is in Grabouw, where it currently is residing for BV.

The website claims the company to be based in London ( SXOLLIE, 15 Spring Bridge Mews, Ealing, W5 2AB )

The taste is soft, sweet, slightly tart, tangy, sugary, golden delicious, sherbet, icing sugar and dull lemon.. Medium body and fine carbonation. Quite soft and sugary. Fair enough, but not a whole lot to it.

330ml bottle @ Brewdog Brum. Pours clear gold, solid fruity sweet apples on the nose. Crisp and clean on the palate, medium-sweet with nice rounded apple fruit. For an accessible cider it's light, breezy with just enough fruit character without getting overly sweet. My extremely picky other half liked it, so it gets an extra point for that alone.

Bottle at the Bottle Bureau, Chelmsford. Pours very pale gold with no head. Not keen on this, my least favoured of the 3 Sxollie's I've tried.
