Cask at Chelmsfaasarhd Beer Fest. An almost clear gold beer, decent bubbly pale cream colour head. Airy palate, mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Light smooth sweet pale malts , never quite creamy sweetness but, getting there. Soft ripe citrus, a touch of juicy brightness but rich orange, tangerine and a touch of mango. Light and semi dry finish. Tidy cask affair.

Cask at Mr Grundy’s, Derby. I originally drank this back in 2019 when it was called “Clifford’s Promotionale” but didn’t rate or review it then. Anyway, pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a small off-white head and good lacing. There’s malts and peaches in the aroma. In the mouth it starts off quite sweet with creamy texture, but some bitterness soon creeps in and gradually increases until it is fairly strongly bitter. Flavour has malts, pineapple and ginger plus some hints of mango and orange peel. Bitterness lasts into the slightly sticky finish. This is a pretty decent golden ale – certainly plenty of punch for the strength.

Hand-pulled half-pint in the Railway Tavern, Newport Shropshire on 23rd March 2023. Slight mist in the dark old golden body, snow white head. Nice, easy going IPA with a decent blend of bittering hops and semi-sweet malts.

Cask at Standing Order, Derby. Pours a golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mainly malts plus a modicum of honey and just a trace of hoppiness. Those hops are much more prominent in the mouth, where they are the initial sensation. After a while they are joined by bread rolls, honey and some hitns of spices. Finish is dry and hoppy – rather nice.

CPFC 2022 festival - Pours a mahogany brown colour with an average sized frothy beige head that settled. The aroma is malty with some dark caramel and light chocolate notes. A moderately sweet taste, sweet roasted malts, dark caramel and treacle flavours with a mellow light drying finish.
