Description
Initiated by 3 young graduates, the Ninkasi was born from a simple idea: to implant the concept of American micro-breweries in France. This project was completed in 1997 and takes place in Lyon, on the Gerland site. In 2012, the factory moved 50km from Lyon, to Tarare more precisely. The new playground for our brewers has a capacity of 5,000 liters per brew (i.e. 23,000 HL / year).

Can from Monoprix, Perigueux, drank after a day enjoyed in the city. Golden in colour with a head. Tropical fruit aromas, although a little lesser in taste as it's a tad strength infused, but the fruits remain prominent.

Bottle brought back from Lille by my boss. Aroma has cloves, light banana and unintrusive hops. Cloudy-opaque amber. Thin foamy translucent white head. Light-medium sour with herbal bitterness. Light hops add to the latter. Develops a sweet banana and fruit finish. Light. Slick if thin. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. I like. Heading towards Hopfenweisse territory.

Bottle from La Grande Epicerie de Paris. Lightly hazed golden amber with a white head and a light fizz. Sweet and lightly spiced. Honey, Speyside whisky. Coriander seed. A fruity hint. Light dryness.Maybe a bit too sweet but it's very enjoyable nevertheless. Good stuff, and a new region for me too. Wahoo!

Draft. An unclear golden beer iwth a beige head. The aroma has notes of verbena, yoghurt, apricots, and wheat. The flavor is apricot, verbena, yoghurt, and wheat, leading to a tart finish. Verbena is not a favorite of mine.
