Description
Inspired by the brewing scene on the West Coast of America Julia Austin founded Tyne Bank Brewery in 2011. Building on the Norths historic love of beer, our craft ales soon became so popular we outgrew our first home. So in 2016 we invested and crowdfunded, to relocate to our new home, an industrial-style, 13,000 sq ft warehouse with tap room and events space on the edge of Ouseburn, home to Newcastle’s vibrant creative community just a short stroll from the city centre. Here drinkers can enjoy a pint whilst watching the brewhouse in action.

A half pint, cask ale at Mr. Foleys Cask Ale House in Leeds. Clear, copper coloured body. Dissipating white head. Aroma is grass fruity, as well as notes of apricot. Sweet fruity taste profile offset by bittersweet hops towards the ending. Has got its moments of enjoyments (11.07.2012).

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Cloudy gold beer. Little bubbly white head. Palate is smooth with nice super fine carbonation. An interesting mix of wheat beer orange and sweet and sour strawberry. The two flavours balanced well. Finishes neutral with the more tart side of the strawberry coming to the fore. Not bad!

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 2/7/2012. Deep amber with a slight white head. Sweet, caramel and berry fruit aroma. Flavour was dominated by sweet, husky cereals along with some more caramel, before a moderatelym bitter finish. Not for me.

Cask @ Bacchus, Newcastle 220312
Dark ruby brown...clear...thin off white head...some lacing
Aroma - light roast malts...some dark sugars..hint of oak wood
Taste - light roast malts..some dark sugars...bit of treacle...sweet dark malts..bit of wood but not getting much bourbon here...rather plain...alcohol well hidden though
Palate - soft carb...thin to medium palate. Finish as main flavour...some lingering roast bitterness...easy drinking for 5.4%
Overall - Pleasant enough but I expected more flavour at the abv.....it was a bit bland

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 16/02/2012. Amber with a slight white head. Aroma of sweetish malts, hedgerow fruits and some grassy hops. Flavour had more fruit, with a touch of citrus, slightly creamy malts and a decent, dryish finish. Fine.
