Can from Bottles & Books. Murky golden body with a white head. No visible carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of orange and pine. Flavour of pineapple and mango with a light hop burn on the finish. Full body with a creamy texture. Soft fizz. This is a tasty DIPA. It’s very drinkable for 10% ABV.

Can picked up via Hoptimism, webshop, Loughborough, Leicestershire and consumed at home Attenkirchen, listening to Beruit - The Rip Tide, Sunday 7th June 2020 cooking Pastitsio and also Cannelloni. The third and final beer from Pentrich this weekend is their fourth anniversary brew Birthdays in Isolation. Pour is similar to the Careless Sun so looking a little like orange juice with a large sticky white head. Smooth, but with a noticeable buzz from the hops throughout. There is a creamy oatiness, it's juicy, also quite sweet fruity with citrus elements but there is tropical touches also. It's a nice beer.

Can picked up via Hoptimism, webshop, Loughborough, Leicestershire and consumed at home Attenkirchen, listening to Pigs, pigs, pigs, pigs, pigs, pigs, pigs - King of Cowards and then Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on 6Music. Pour is similar to the Careless Sun that I had earlier, so a bit like orange juice with a sticky white head. A little hop burn noted early on, this grows to become a bigger hop burn the more you sip. Soft mouthfeel, creamy oatiness, juicy, sweet a little bit all over the place, there are tropical and citrus flavours but somehow this lacks a distinct fruitiness, it's ok but not a patch on the Careless Sun.

Can picked up via Hoptimism, webshop, Loughborough, Leicestershire and consumed at home Attenkirchen. Pours for the world looking like some sort of orange milkshake with a large white head. Soft mouthfeel, creamy, oaty, smooth, however as smooth as this is the hoppiness really hits, a bit of a hoppy burn. Streaky, fresh green hoppiness, sweet, resinous but with some overipe tropical touches, some orange ice cream (if there is such a thing) however there is a nice pithiness. This is good, really good.

Can. Beer Central, Sheffield. Pours like strained soup. Looks like a full glass of the dregs you tip away out the bottom of a can. With a head on. Nose has milky oats. Nettles. Some well ripe citrus. But basically it’s like porridge with hops. Taste has harsh bitterness, and jarring, milky sweetness. Medium body. Fine carbonation. Some “hop burn”. Moderate bitterness to finish. Wow.

Can. Beer Central, Sheffield. Chic looking milky gold. Fine and dense, glossy white foam is lasting and semi lacing. Nose has super sweet tinned pineapple and peach. Milky oats. Chalk. Touch of pine freshener. Taste is sweet and milky, with a citrus, slightly mineraly bitterness. Medium body. Pretty smooth. Soft carbonation. Thankfully gets more bitter towards the finish. Decent. Nice and fresh and fruity, but possibly too sweet overall, for me.

Can. No mention of this being a hazy dipa by the brewer, no mention of it having NE yeast. But here we are, yet another dipa someone thinks is hazy enough to qualify because that's what the shite style guidelines say. What a fuckup this is. Anyway it is a hazy orange gold beer with a small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth sweetish malts. Citra presents here with light pine, a little spice and a slightly tangy but reasonably fresh orange vibe with a riper orange and mandarin underneath. A modicum of bitterness in the light spicy finish. Tidy and drinkable but lacks a wow factor for me.
