Description
Rowton Brewery was established in October 2008 by Jim Preston. Purpose built in a converted Victorian cattle shed on the family farm the micro-brewery has plenty of character.
Rowton Brewery has been supplying the good people of Shropshire with traditionally brewed real ales since 2008.
Consistency is maintained by getting the basics right every brew by using high quality Maris Otter malt, the finest hops sourced from round the world and water drawn from our own borehole.
The theme around the breweries logo and merchandise is based around the Rowton Meteorite that landed in the village of Rowton in 1876, which is believed to be the only Iron Meteorite that has been seen to hit the Earth in the United Kingdom. The Meteorite is currently in the Natural History Museum in London.

2nd Oct 2019, hand-pulled half-pint in The Pheasant, Wellington and drank in the yard next to the brewhouse. The beer hadn't traveled far at all. As the name might suggest, this is a cloudy little number, yellow being it's actual colour, the head was a lasting soft white crown that gave of some good lacing. Stone fruits, piney, bitter and hoppy, liked it.

Hand-pulled cask pint at the brewpub (The Pheasant Inn, Wellington) at lunchtime on 19th Sep 2019. Clear golden pour, white head with good lacing as the beer level dropped in the sleeve glass. The Rakau hops give it a dry wine like taste, the comet some bitterness. Nice easy drinking beer in the afternoon sun shine.
