Description
Rowton Brewery was established in October 2008 by Jim Preston. Purpose built in a converted Victorian cattle shed on the family farm the micro-brewery has plenty of character.
Rowton Brewery has been supplying the good people of Shropshire with traditionally brewed real ales since 2008.
Consistency is maintained by getting the basics right every brew by using high quality Maris Otter malt, the finest hops sourced from round the world and water drawn from our own borehole.
The theme around the breweries logo and merchandise is based around the Rowton Meteorite that landed in the village of Rowton in 1876, which is believed to be the only Iron Meteorite that has been seen to hit the Earth in the United Kingdom. The Meteorite is currently in the Natural History Museum in London.

Two cask pints, hand-pulled in Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Oakengates on 22nd May 2021. Clear mahogany body, lasting beige head that offered up some good lacing. Traditional strong Mild (most likely trying to be similar to Sarah Hughes's Dark Ruby Mild), treacle like sweetness mid-sip, good malty nose and flavour. Liked it!

Deep gold with frothy white head, and a faintly acidic nose - the mouthfeel is slightly grainy, and there's a sharp bite to the light biscuit malt flavor, with some fruity characteristics also apparent.

Hand-pulled pint at the Pheasant, Wellington and drank in the garden looking at the brewhouse it came from, on 31st Aug 2020. Light golden pour, lasting white crown on top. Floral hoppy nose and taste, mild citrus leanings in the aroma and taste also. Easy drinking ale with a bit more about it that it's original brother.

Cask @ The Pheasant, Wellington. Clear gold, well appointed white head. Light floral nose. Not too familiar with this hop. Comes across a bit earthy and nettley, some underlying sweet malt with a bitter close. Ok.
