Hand-pulled half-pint in the breweries only pub, The Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire. Thursday 15th March 2018 being the date I drank it. Golden body, clean and clear, lasting white head with lacing. The Citra hops do their thing and the aroma and taste have that lemony, citrus feel to them. Not really my thing, but it's a well constructed beer and many will think it's great, my palate has got bored with citrusy flavoured beers now. scored objectively.

Saurday 3rd March 2018, after judging the 'Game of Scones' (tasting and marking 13 different home baked offerings) I needed something to force down the crumbs. Jim Preston (the owner and brewer of Rowton) was a co-judge and he recommended his new version of his Portly Stout. Hand-pulled pint in The Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire (Rowton brewery's only pub). Black body, tanned topping. Rich Port aroma and taste, full bodied and smooth, in fact a lovely beer in every aspect.

Pendle Beer Festival 2018. Clear golden-blonde. It is mildly hoppy with a slightly thin pale ale texture.

Cask pints and halves in The Pheasant on a regular basis, this is the old 'Ironbridge & Wrekin' Gold but brewed out at Rowton now, same recipe but different water and equipment. Pours a bright and clean golden colour, usually has a long lasting head that hangs around throughout the drink. Light citrus leanings, well balanced and a favourite with both female and male drinkers here in Wellington.

26th Oct 2017. CAMRA Beer Festival in Shifnal, Shropshire. Gravity poured half pint. Golden pour, wispy white head. Malt forward in this nicely balanced Bitter, easy drinking (like all of the Rowton range) and quaffable if there is such a word. Liked it.

Cask pint in the breweries only pub The Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire on 19th Oct 2017. Poured by the brewer (Steve). Black bodied with a good and lasting beige head of smooth foam. Dry and malty, lightly hopped. Steve said he had expected more of a hop profile, but was happy with the end product, so was I.

Cask pint on 16th Sep 2017 in the breweries only pub: The Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire. Golden bodied beer with a white, lasting head. Mosaic hops give the beer a citrusy aroma and taste, bitterness also. Fairly dry in nature throughout.
