Description
Rowton Brewery was established in October 2008 by Jim Preston. Purpose built in a converted Victorian cattle shed on the family farm the micro-brewery has plenty of character.

Rowton Brewery has been supplying the good people of Shropshire with traditionally brewed real ales since 2008.

Consistency is maintained by getting the basics right every brew by using high quality Maris Otter malt, the finest hops sourced from round the world and water drawn from our own borehole.

The theme around the breweries logo and merchandise is based around the Rowton Meteorite that landed in the village of Rowton in 1876, which is believed to be the only Iron Meteorite that has been seen to hit the Earth in the United Kingdom. The Meteorite is currently in the Natural History Museum in London.

Cask @ Shrewsbury Beer Festival 2017. Pours dark brown, thin off-white head. Aroma has distant chocolate orange, light caramel. Taste is extremely light, watery even with very distant chocolate orange hints. Mild indeed.

Cask @ Shrewsbury Beer Festival 2017. Like the Chocolate Mint Stout, this will be their standard stout with Chocolate Orange syrup added. There is some choc orange hints to the nose, some to the taste. Not over-powering, and I do like a chocolate orange from time to time. Mild roast. It’s decent.

Cask @ Shrewsbury Beer Festival 2017. Pours dark with ruby hints, thin off-white head. Aroma has indeed got dark chocolate mint and roast. Taste backs up the promise of chocolate mint alongside a soft roast character. I imagine this is their standard stout with added chocolate mint syrup.

Cask @ Craven Arms, Birmingham. Golden with a thin head. Hoppy with an easy-drinking session texture, smooth, with a light dryness.

Chelmsford Winter Beer Fest (with Rune, Rasmus, Saxo and Camons) @ KEGS. Cask. Clear amber beer, no head. Palate is light, semi dry and has low carbonation. Tangy mellow dark malts. Ripe fruits. Some floralness in the light finish. Tired and lame.
