[Cask at the Alehouse, Reading.] A hazy golden amber pour with a tight cream coloured head; aroma of roasted barley and hedgerow hops; strong English traditional hop taste, fruity with a touch of peppery spice, and a smooth butterscotch body; then a dry finish with a lingering, satisfying, bitterness. A proper ESB.

Can from Garsons, West End. Aroma has soft stone fruit and spice. Sweet underbelly. More opaque yhan hazy, gold. Thick foamy white head. Medium-heavy bitter. Resin. Stone fruit. Spice. Sweet yeasty malty lager streak develops. But the bitterness does not back down. Light. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Decent.

Malty, hoppy taste with notes of caramel, apricots, dark bread and a fairly balanced, but slightly sharp, resiny/earthy bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty and refreshing. Quite nice.
