Manchester Beer Festival 2018. Paler golden coloured. Hoppy-sweet and mildly floral. Its strength is just evident.

[ As Stubborn Mule Pre-Prohibition Cream Ale ].
ABV: 5.5%. Clear medium yellow colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, fruity malt. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, sweet malt, sugary malt - vanilla, pale malt, fruity malt - citrus - peach. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20180126]

ABV: 4.7%. Clear medium orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, fruity malt, nutty, light to moderate hoppy, light earthy - grassy. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, earthy hops, dry, pale malt, sweet malt, fruity hops, light earthy - grassy. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20180126]

Cask @ The Brink, Manchester. Clear copper with an amber glow and a thin head. It has a dryish and healthy pale ale texture, has a crispness alongside some grainy malts.

Cask @ GBBF 2017. Pours a dark brown black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty caramel and chocolate finish.

[ As Stubborn Mule IPA Single Hop - Mosaic ].Clear medium yellow orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, fruity malt, moderate hoppy, dried fruit, light butterscotch. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, sweet fruit, citrus, fruity hops. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask at The Great British Beer Festival 2017, Olympia, London. A black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Sweet, malty, chocolate aroma. Taste is the same, slightly sweet, malty, chocolate, smooth drinking stout.

Cask at GBBF �17, day one, 08/08/17. Light black with a decent tan cap. Nose is chocolate, burnt toffee, spice, brown bread. Taste comprises chocolate biscuit, light fruit esters, pinch of spice, toffee fudge. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Ok stout but perhaps lacking depth considering it’s close to 6%.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Clear deep brown beer, no head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, modest carbonation. Smooth dark malts, modest cocoa chocolate. Trace of roast bitterness. Light dry finish. Just another stout.
