Description
The brewery is still a small family run operation and currently employs over 20 people. The business was set up by Shane and Alison Parr, with lots of help from Iain and Anne Reid (Alison’s parents) and Innes Reid (Alison’s brother), but we survive and thrive on the great crew we have working with us.

Our brewing plant capacity has been upgraded over the years and now is now 100 brewer’s barrels (28,800 pints) per week, which allows us to meet demand during peak periods. In 2013 we constructed a purpose built, energy efficient brew house, and we’re always looking for ways to improve our environmental impact by saving water and energy.

Cask @ Cromwell's Tap House. Pours gold with a fine mist, good white head. Stewed fruity bitter pale, leaning towards the trad side of things.. Ok, but perhaps not in great condition / on a little too long. Will have to try again.

Cloudy yellow gold with a bubbly white head and a lovely tropical fruit aroma. Smooth, soft and creamy with fleshy and tropical fruit and hop bitterness nicely balanced, with a dry finish

Two cask pints @ Plas Yn Dinas, Llanfechain after a ride on the trails nearby to the Lonely Tree. Pours a generally clear gold, white head. A touch pedestrian, straightforward blonde in tone, no real hop notes jumping out, but then conditions not always the best in this pub so perhaps more definition would be forthcoming elsewhere. Fine overall.

Cask at Old Harkers Arms, Chester (@4.2%). Pours a pale straw with a medium sized almost white head and excellent lacing. There’s floral hops in the aroma, plus traces of citrus and stone fruit. In the mouth it is slightly bitter but with a little underlying sweetness, Floral hops and grapefruit in the flavour leading to a slightly dry finish. This is reasonable.

Cask @ Salopian, the pub. Pours a hazed gold, white head. Vibrant fruity nose, prominent citrus, gentle exotic fruit. Continues to taste, soft palate, lovely exotic shades, some lychee and passionfruit, really nicely presented.

Keg @ Cromwell's Tap House. Pours opaque hazed gold, white head. Prominent pineapple and grapefruit coming through with a smooth oaty feel on the palate, moderately full bodied. Definitely comes across like a step above usual Stonehouse pales.

Cask @ Bailey Head. Pours a misty gold, small white head. Nicely sweet, some creamy peachy elements, lacks a bit of life unfortunately but decent overall.

Cask @ Cromwell's. Pours clear gold, white herad. Nicely fruity grapefruit, quite hoppy, fresh with a lovely appealing citrussy sweetness. You can tell immediately new brewer / ex-Salopian Brewery Kev's influence here. A great sign of things to come at Stonehouse.
