Can thanks to Bonnie. Amber with a frothy, white head. Aroma is both floral and full if banana bread. Taste has a mild banana bread sweetness and a dash of spice at the finish. Medium-bodied, mild carbonation, good chewiness. Pleasant!

Gold with a frothy, white head. Citrus and honey melon aroma. Taste is moderate bitter. Pithy. Resin and more honey melon at the finish. Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation, assertive enough. Good.

I have a 22 oz bottle of La Negra that was bought at Susan's Fine Wines in Santa Fe last year. La Cumbre, easily my favorite NM brewery, offers up an imperial stout, I'm on top of it. Tonight's glass, a tulip from Cowtown, is in place. The pour is a solidly black liquid and no head that I can see. And the scent is attractive with dark plums and chocolate. The taste, geez, is really good. Black raisins, dark chocolate, the barest hint of roast, caramel, malt, bourbon I assume, black bread and jam. Some decent sweetness offset by a nice finishing bitterness. La Cumbre, well done again.

I've been to Santa Fe a number of times the last few years. This was the first time I saw Luminosity on the shelf, bought it, of course. My estimation, La Cumbre is the best of a competitive New Mexico market for local brewers. A NE style IPA from La Cumbre, okay. The pour from the tall boy can shows a hazy lemon yellow body topped by a stout head of white foam. I smell grapefruit mostly, pineapple and a bit of pine. The drink, well, okay. Orange, turpentine, crackers, lemon, pine and a respectable amount of hops. Sensation is somewhat thin. An all right IPA, no stretching of the style.
