Description
Focussing on "the good side of life" is what Big Belly Brewing is all about. We love things a little bigger, going the extra mile, adding something special, being more creative. But above all, we love things in life that are a bit more fun.

All our beers are well balanced and made with premium "The Swean" malts, so we get the full, distinctive beers that we are proud of. After coming up with a special touch, we design a legendary character for every beer. Finally, we write and add an amusing story about the character and the beer. That's how we make one of the most fun things, drinking beer, even more fun.

33 cl. bottle @ home as 12% ABV, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg Black with a tan head. Dark lightly roasted malts and whisky in the aroma. Taste is moderately sweet. Some chocolate, some vanilla. Alcohol well concealed as this is very smooth for a 12% ABV beer. Very nice one.

Goed!

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of chocolate, mild smoke, licorice and caramel. Taste has smoke, creamy peat, licorice, caramel, bitter chocolate and sticky malt. Peat is a bit too subtle, but the flavors work well. Bit too much carbo though. Good beer, a new brewery to watch.

Bottle. Color: Very dark brown, almost black. Thin, fast disappearing light brown head. Taste: Dark roasted malt with strong notes of whiskey. Vanilla, booze, medium sweet combined with hopbitterness, dried dark red fruit, lightly smoky hints. Ligjhty harsh. Above medium body, below average carbonation. Nice one but not a top BA beer.

0.33 l bottle from 'Hopt', bottled in August 2017. Hazy, dark reddish brown with a thin, frothy, almost stable, light beige head. Sweetish-malty, rather yeasty and slightly spicy aroma of caramel, gingerbread, overripe banana, cloves and a touch of raisins. Moderately sweet, malty, rather yeasty, spicy and a little roasty taste of caramel, milk chocolate, gingerbread, toasted nuts, clove and overripe banana, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, a little tart, fairly spicy, yeasty and slightly roasty finish. Medium body, slightly creamy and quite effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Great idea, the flavours match pretty well, it's just a bit harsh and unround, other than that worth trying.
