Description
Established in 2011, Mumbles Brewery has dedicated itself to producing quality real ales with a local flavour. That ‘local flavour’ comes from the beautiful Swansea in Wales. Their beers are only available in pubs throughout South Wales and Bristol, that is one of many reasons we chose them to be included in our boxes. We wanted you to be able to enjoy these excellent beers no matter where you are in the country. The Brewery started making real ale in 2013 in the Pilot Inn, Mumbles. A range of unique ales are brewed with local flavour.

Cask at Bag O Nails, Bristol. It pours black with minimal head. The aroma is rich, toasty, toasty, earthy, umami, liquorice, chocolate and toffee. The taste is sweet, sticky, oily, chewy, chocolate, toffee, umami, spice, dirt, tar, tannin and peppery spice with a drying finish. Medium body and low carbonation. Not great condition. Fair.

Cask at Cornubia - Bristol. Pours clear orange-gold with a small, foamy white head. Bready malt nose, a touch buttery, some English yeast. Light sweet flavour with doughy, lightly toasted malts, subtle leafy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation; so so carbonation. Sweet finish, more doughy and lightly butter bread. Eh, fairly mediocre.

Cask at Cornubia. It pours clear brown with a small white head. The aroma is earthy, bready, caramel, toasty grain and leather. The taste is drying, chewy, old leather sofa, tannin, stewed black tea and some peppery spice with a drying finish. Light body and soft carbonation. A pretty standard twiggy cask thing, but not bad.

Cask at Cornubia, Bristol. Pours clear golden amber, slim white head. Aroma of dank green hops, biscuit malts. Taste is bready malts, dank grassy hops. Medium body, moderate carbo, hoppy dry finish.

[ As Mumbles India Pale Ale ].
ABV: 5.3%. Clear medium orange - amber yellow colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, moderate hoppy, citrus, hop oil. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, hop oil, plastic, sweet malt, fruity malt, citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20171014]

Tried at the Nottingham Beer Festival 2017. Deep reddish dark brown colour with an off white head. Malty roasted and caramel aroma with chocolate. Taste sweet with a roasted bitterness, Medium Body.

Cask @ Gatekeeper (JDW), Cardiff. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty floral earthy hoppy aroma. Fruity malty earthy hoppy bitter flavor. Has a fruity malty earthy hoppy bitter finish.

Cask @ GBBF 2016. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate caramel aroma. Roasted malty chocolate licorice flavor. Has a roasted malty licorice and chocolate finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 2017. Hazy and golden in colour, with a decent, white, head. A pleasant German-style wheat beer, with banana, cloves and bubble gum notes, grainy malts and a rather boozy finish.
