Description
Burdock brewery set up shop in what used to be an old Portuguese chicken restaurant, and they transformed the space into an artist-driven bar/restaurant/music hall/microbrewery run by a group of musicians and music lovers. They offer a rotating list of clean pale ales, complex saisons, crisp pilsners, zippy sours, and beer-wine hybrids that are all brewed in house.

Sergey's hunt, bottled 07/2018
Cloudy light red colour. It has a hughe berry character, jam, and moderate tartness, without notes of acetic acid and without harsh raspberry tannins.
Very good.

Sergey's hunt; bottled 06/2018
Dark ruby colour. Sharp berry character, I like the intensity of the aroma more; it really tastes like fruit wine.

375ml bottle from Yaletown BCL at Alex's shared with Ash, Jamey. Appearance: nice purple with a rose head. Aroma: lots of raspberry with farmhouse notes, funk, and barrel notes. Taste: similar with an acidity coming from raspberries. Overall: good one, a bit over acidic.

Bottle at Farmhouse Fest 2019, pours a clear pinkish peach colour with a small white head. Aroma brings out stone fruits, with a touch of earthy notes. Flavour is loaded with cherry stone fruits upfront, with light oak, and some acidity. Loads of cherry notes. Very nice.

Bottle at Farmhouse Fest 2019, pours an opaque blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out earthy notes, tart stone fruits and bitterness. Flavour is quite bitter, with musty stone fruits, rustic saison yeast, and bitter earthiness. Bitter and rustic. Good stuff, but I've had better from Burdock.

Finally a day with some July summery weather! Burdock July 6.1% 375ml bottle served in a tulip at cellar temperatures. This bottle-conditioned saison is a soft gold with a wheat flake aromawith honeycomb and white pepper notes but the wheat dominates. Very soft bodied with a round carbonation. The taste is chewy wheat with some cloves, pepper and something wine like that evokes Nelson Sauvin to me. A year old and tasty but I think the Burdock Three held up better and had more complexity.
