Description
Burdock brewery set up shop in what used to be an old Portuguese chicken restaurant, and they transformed the space into an artist-driven bar/restaurant/music hall/microbrewery run by a group of musicians and music lovers. They offer a rotating list of clean pale ales, complex saisons, crisp pilsners, zippy sours, and beer-wine hybrids that are all brewed in house.

Hazy and pale. On the nose, fruity like banana and pineapple maybe, and a little bit yeasty. On the palate, about the same. Off-dry. It's ok, but does not strike me as special. Sort of a classic take on saison, but the problem with that is that it's at twice the price of Dupont, so why would I buy this again?

330mL can, pours a hazy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out lacto upfront, with lovingly tart citrus and saison yeast. Flavour is along the same lines, with lightly tart citrus, saison yeast and a touch of lacto. Nicely balanced, with a lightly tart citric and lacto-y finish. Good stuff.

On tap at Farmhouse Fest 2018, pours a deep dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out lots of cola, red wine tannins, oak, and Worcestershire sauce. Flavour falls a bit flat, with oak, cola, and some balsamic. A bit too cola-like. It's okay.

A murky yellow orange juice ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with loads of mango juice, light acidity, light Epsom salts, beautiful. In mouth, a nice refreshing mix of tart lemon juice, light mango, light mineral notes, resinous hops, very nice and complex. On tap at Bar Lupulus.
