Description
WHEN YOU SIT DOWN WITH A BEER, YOU’RE AFTER SOMETHING. Maybe it’s nuanced layers of flavor, the siren call of a favorite hop, or to test your skill identifying stone fruit tasting notes. Maybe you’re chasing the new or craving the familiar, perhaps you just want to kick back for a drink with friends—and order another of the same. At Bearded Iris, our beers meet you where you are and deliver the experience you seek, whatever it might be, because that’s what we believe makes beer worth drinking. CULTIVATE VARIETY DRIVES US AT BIBCO. (WE’RE NOT KIDDING.) With a menu that skews heavily toward IPAs, DIPAs, and pales, it can appear that we don’t, in fact, cultivate much “variety.” But here’s the thing: we’re not looking to bombard you with a checklist of styles. Instead, we know that each hop varietal and every intentionally selected ingredient contains a multitude of possibilities that can be deliberately unlocked and unleashed, then honed and hemmed in tightly, to construct a pint that’s unapologetically itself, memorably composed, and fun to drink. Every time. Regardless of style. To us, that’s the variety worth cultivating. And that’s what we bring to your table.

One of the most wonderfully aromatic IPAs I’ve ever come across, an olfactory flood of lemondrops and pineapple and berry with underlying pine and floral notes. Truly amazing. Too bad the rest of the beer is rather underwhelming, a front-loaded blast of citric, earthy hops that quickly fades into a mild, pine-tinted finish. Needs more bitterness, less of the buttery undertones plaguing the malt center. Pours a hazed gold with a slight white head and modest lacing. Sparkly feel is good, not great. Worth it just for the brilliant nose.

Pint can pours with a murky near opaque dull copper body that supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up inviting notes of cantaloupe, mango, pineapple and peach flowing into a faint green lime sensation. The taste delivers smooth soft juicy goodness with mango, guava, peach, cantaloupe and then a thin tangy juicy tangerine note. Yes. It gets mildly mineral and sediment like towards the finish but this doesn't really distract from the experience. Nice stuff with zero sense of the ABV.

On tap at Bearded Iris, pours a cloudy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out tangy citrus hops, some light dank notes, and biscuity malt. Flavour is quite dry, with lots of biscuity malt and bone dry citrus and piney hops. Incredible depth and cleanliness to the hops, with little bittering finish. Awesome stuff.

On tap at Bearded Iris, pours a cloudy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out biscuity malt, light lactose, and dry tropical fruity hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with just enough lactose to distinguish this, along with tropical fruity hops, and dry biscuity malt. Really nicely done.

On tap at Bearded Iris, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with dank citra hops, with little bitterness and some floral notes. Flavour is much the same, bringing out lots of dank citra hops, with a hint of floral character. Total absence of bittering hops. What a lovely brew.
