Description
WHEN YOU SIT DOWN WITH A BEER, YOU’RE AFTER SOMETHING. Maybe it’s nuanced layers of flavor, the siren call of a favorite hop, or to test your skill identifying stone fruit tasting notes. Maybe you’re chasing the new or craving the familiar, perhaps you just want to kick back for a drink with friends—and order another of the same. At Bearded Iris, our beers meet you where you are and deliver the experience you seek, whatever it might be, because that’s what we believe makes beer worth drinking. CULTIVATE VARIETY DRIVES US AT BIBCO. (WE’RE NOT KIDDING.) With a menu that skews heavily toward IPAs, DIPAs, and pales, it can appear that we don’t, in fact, cultivate much “variety.” But here’s the thing: we’re not looking to bombard you with a checklist of styles. Instead, we know that each hop varietal and every intentionally selected ingredient contains a multitude of possibilities that can be deliberately unlocked and unleashed, then honed and hemmed in tightly, to construct a pint that’s unapologetically itself, memorably composed, and fun to drink. Every time. Regardless of style. To us, that’s the variety worth cultivating. And that’s what we bring to your table.

Tall can. Cloudy medium yellow with a tall white head. Light flowery citrus hop aroma. The flavor has a light sweet malt base with tangy hop bitterness providing the main show.

Winner after winner coming from Bearded Iris. Tunnel Vision offers up a delicious citra-mosaic mash-up, bringing out a nice tart lemon hoppiness that mixes well with the mosaic multi-headed madness. Floral, herbaceous, bitter, uber-green, all on top of a sweet caramel-biscuit malt base that gives the brew a lemondrop backbone. Looks gorgeous, smells better--lovely, lovely pint we have here.

Tall can. Full cloudy yellow with a white head. The aroma is spruce-like pine resin, grapefruit and pineapple. The flavor is balanced with sweet and bitter taking turns.with pineapple and mango. Nice bitter finish.

Delicious pale, massively hoppy without any IPA vitriol, herbaceous and piney with a grapefruit undertone. Malts give a solid toasted biscuit backbone, and a citric-berry finish slides into a mildly bitter fade. Pours like a Bearded Iris beer, orange-gold and murky as hell. Nose is cat pee and citrus with a yeasty tang. Solid beer.

No description, so I have no clue if this brew’s a hybrid hefe-IPA or if the banana notes are coming from sugar or hops or what but..this beer’s weird, dude. Not bad weird, just...weird. Banana on the nose, banana in the taste, plus a solid dose of citric hops and a diacetyl butteriness that’s not altogether pleasant. Sweet and thick, hides the booze well, but not too sure about this one.

Mango, some pine and some citrus and pepper. A little bit of green onion. Pours hazy orange with good head and lacing. Great balance. Awesome, in keeping with their other IPAs. A little booze. Awesome finish like Jari Kuri. Can at Beer Sellar.

Unique IPA for damn sure, pouring perhaps the cloudiest I’ve ever seen for the style, more like fresh-pressed apple cider than a beer. Gives up a strong herbal nose, reeking of ganja and grapefruit. Taste hits first with a brisk pine note, dry and resinous, yet the citric hops perk up in the middle, offering a semisweet grapefruit-mango center before heading into a bitter, clingy finish. Improves as it warms, growing rounder and juicier with a vegetal aftertaste. Feel seems off; maybe it’s the haze, maybe it’s my imagination, but there does seem to be a bit of strange citric acidity to the palate. Still, a solid IPA, if a bit odd.
