Description
WHEN YOU SIT DOWN WITH A BEER, YOU’RE AFTER SOMETHING. Maybe it’s nuanced layers of flavor, the siren call of a favorite hop, or to test your skill identifying stone fruit tasting notes. Maybe you’re chasing the new or craving the familiar, perhaps you just want to kick back for a drink with friends—and order another of the same. At Bearded Iris, our beers meet you where you are and deliver the experience you seek, whatever it might be, because that’s what we believe makes beer worth drinking. CULTIVATE VARIETY DRIVES US AT BIBCO. (WE’RE NOT KIDDING.) With a menu that skews heavily toward IPAs, DIPAs, and pales, it can appear that we don’t, in fact, cultivate much “variety.” But here’s the thing: we’re not looking to bombard you with a checklist of styles. Instead, we know that each hop varietal and every intentionally selected ingredient contains a multitude of possibilities that can be deliberately unlocked and unleashed, then honed and hemmed in tightly, to construct a pint that’s unapologetically itself, memorably composed, and fun to drink. Every time. Regardless of style. To us, that’s the variety worth cultivating. And that’s what we bring to your table.

Massive initial burst of juicy, tropical hops, tart and aggressive almost to the point of growing sour, then gaining a bready, somewhat dry middle. Mango and passionfruit dominate the start, but the finish grows thin and bland, cracker malts giving way to a weak, IBU-deficient fade. Way too front-loaded, even though he front’s rather enjoyable. Humongous hop nose, however, and the texture’s silky and clean, what you want in a pale. Just needs more oomph.

Enjoyable stout, bold and smoky, the chocolate and roast balanced nicely by the rounded tea sweetness. Some cherry and raisin fruitiness on the periphery, but mostly a smoked chocolate and tobacco-laced core with a mild, sweet finish. Looks flat and watery, and the mouthfeel follows suit, but a tasty brew anyway.

Can from the source. Pours a clearish gold with a finger of foam. Peach, apricot durian all over the nose. Tons of fruit on the palate, w/ peach and mango dominating & a touch of candied lemon. No perceived bitterness on this one at all. Another homerun by BI.

Can. Thanks Adrian! Pours a clearish gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Tropical fruit forward nose w/ mango dominating. Smooth as silk on the palate. More mango juice and faint lychee alongside some dank notes as it warms. Very low bitterness. Awesome.

Can from the brewery. Pours a hazy, glowing straw color with 2 fingers of foam Big tropical fruit nose with guava, pineapple, papaya and orange dominating. More tropical bomb on the palate too. Creamy with a very juicy character. So crushable. Noice!

Can. Thanks Adrian! Pours a hazy gold with a finger of creamy foam that lingers. Big, hoppy nose with lots of citrus and mango. A little light on the palate, but still really solid. Low perceived bitterness with good tropical notes on the finish. Stellar, but would like to revisit when a tad younger.

Can from Adrian. Thanks man! Pours a glowing hazy mango juice colored orange with a soft, fluffy white head that lingers. Strawberry notes, lime and faint pine aromas. Juicy and creamy on the palate. More pine and strawberry...wow really complex as it warms up a bit. Lots of wild berry and citrus on the finish. Very much like a hazy grunion. Awesome.

Can. Thanks Adrian! Clearish gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Bit of lemon, lychee, durian and dank aromas jumping out of the glass. Nice pils-like malt on the palate with lemon and lychee. Finish has some fruit skin. Light bitterness. Definitely a new world Keller, but another win for Bearded Iris.

Can from Adrian (Thanks brother!). Pours a hazy gold with a big soft, pillowy head that lingers. Mango, papaya, pineapple bomb on the nose. Smooth and creamy palate with nothing but juicy, tropical fruit, freshly squeezed. Endless flavor. Basically no perceived alcohol or bitterness. BI nailed this one and probably my favorite BI so far.

Tap at the source. Pours a hazy gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Sweet mango nose with faint syrupy pineapple. Medium to slightly heavy body. Clean, but maybe a bit heavy for Bearded Iris. Good body. Finish is lightly bitter. Still quite enjoyable.
