Description
Established in 2017 in the most Eastern point of mainland Scotland, we brew our beers in small batches in the nautical town of Peterhead. At Brew Toon we are passionate about creating bold, adventurous craft beers, packed full of flavour and character. We strive to use local ingredients where ever possible and pride ourselves on this provenance.

Brew Toon was born out of a passion for brewing and craftsmanship in general.

Our brewery is based on a historic site in Peterhead, which was once home to "Hunter & Sons - Tanfield Brewery". This heritage is hugely important to us and massively influential in how we run our brewery today.

T42 Christmas Bottleshare. Thanks to Scopey. Almost opaque dark red - amber brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, a little tangy dark chocolate. Modest Pine. Ripe fruits. Light and mildly bitter finish. Not bad. Could do with a better malt backbone.

Bottle in Abz. It pours clear bright gold with a decent white head. The aroma is pungent, big lavender character dominates, floral, herbal, grassy, savoury and citrus peel. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter - sweet, oily, orange peel, tangerine, loads of lavender, toilet cleaner, toasty grain, wheat, straw and grass with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Maybe too much lavender was involved with the making of this beer. Saying that I don’t dislike it. Unusual.

Bottle split at the L42 Xmas Boost Up '17, thanks to Paulo, 18/12/17. Dark deep mahogany brown with a decent beige covering that retains well. Nose is light plastic, grains, spice, toffee, hint of cocoa powder. Taste comprises black peppery spice, mineral bite, light pine, dark toffee, cocoa bite. Medium bodied, spritzy and overcarbed, drying close dusted with earthy hop bitterness. Average CDA ... nose and mouthfeel drops this for me.
