Tap at Stadbrouwhuis, Leiden: Clear amber coloured brew with an dry bitter taste with hints of citrus, some blueberry and very slightly caramel.

Can from Appellation Wines. Pours hazy amber with a thin off-white head. Aromas are a little sour and grainy. Taste adds some nuts and caramel. Thin finish.

Black beer, solid off-white head. Aroma has sweet malt and some aniseed. Flavour has a sweet, aniseed-y note up front too, with some fruit, a little smoke, dark chocolate, a bit of coffee. Good body to it and a nice balanced finish. Very decent.

Keg at Shilling Glasgow, layover rakes off 712 (709/711), 05/10/24. Light black with a tan cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is big on tonka, chocolate biscuit, roast malts, toffee, light nutty tones. Taste comprises chocolate, roasted malts, tonka bean, charr, light spice, brown sugar melt. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Tidy tonka affair.

Can at a neighbours. Pours dark brown with a thick beige head. Aromas of liquorice and prune, light leather, fruity coffee. Taste is roast, cooked victoria plums, faint chocolate. Rich finish. Good stuff.

Aroma: subtle cake chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Very subtle aroma. Taste: light pastry, some coffee beans and nuts. Next one, please!

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - murky yellow with a snow white head. Nose - lemon and pineapple. Lightly grassy. Taste - grassy, pineapple and lemon zest. Palate - light to medium bodied, dry and zesty finish. Overall - good stuff!
