Bought locally. Canned March 6th 2025.

Pours a little darker than pale gold, pretty head of foam, good retention, excellent lacing.

Sure does smell like a double IPA. Tropical fruit, good malt presence, dank, not my favourite aromas, to be honest.

Taste is tropical fruit, caramel and toasted malt, kind of sweet to boost the abv and some alcohol, now that I mentioned the abv. Citrus is there and helps.

Mouthfeel is good.

I probably wouldn't buy this again.

19.2 ounce can from a BYO section at Festival Northland, 6/21/25. I'm not holding up much hope for this despite my love for Lagunitas. They are about to disappoint me. I hope I'm wrong. Clear purpleamber. Medium tan head, average retention. Aroma of straight fruit punch and nothing else. It's like WOW. Taste matches. Hint of hops. They're cheating, chasing the alco-op trend. I can kinda get it, but I am disappointed. Luckily I have some hoppy beer to follow.

Optisch trübes Gold, in der Nase hopfig, harzig. Im Trunk ebenso, Frichtkorb, Trauben, keine Spur alkoholisch, vielleicht sogar hinten etwas wässrig. Okay.

Time for a suitable brew after a long afternoon spent with the lawnmower. Maybe I’m old school but if it comes in a 19.2 oz can, was bought out of the cooler at the corner convenience store, has a 9.0% ABV and says malt beverage on the label, I call it a malt liquor. But I digress. I slide the can inside of a well-used paper bag and lift the tab. It smells mostly of cherries and oranges. I take a drink. My first impression is not good, it is so bland. A light touch of fruit of some kind, cardboard and water. Natty Rush and Minhas and others have punches that are much more flavorful. Disappointing.
