Cask at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. Sitting in the beer garden on a perfect summer afternoon. A deep chestnut colour with a reddish golden gleam as the sunlight hits it, and a tight cream head; intriguing aroma of purple fruit and treacle; the taste has more purple fruit - blackcurrants, and plums in particular - but also some leather and licorice; there’s a lasting fruity bitterness with lingering oaty grains. Rather good in the sunshine, despite appearing to be a winter beer at first sight.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 9/5/2015. Golden in colour with a decent, white, head. Tangerine and pineapple fruits, some biscuity malts, grassy hops and a decent, dry, finish. Good.

Cask @ Richard John Blackler, Liverpool. Golden with a creamy head. Has a medium malty bitterness that’s most stated in its taste as there’s hits of fruits to enjoy in its aroma and aftertaste. Session ale.

Cask at the Greyfriar Preston. Pours clear gold with a thin white head. Aromas of citrus, caramel Taste is more of the same. Watery finish. Ok

Golden beer with a creamy off white head. Tangy fruit aroma. Flavour is tart and sweet but it mellows quite quickly and there’s a certain dry hop aftertaste to balance it out.

Cask-conditioned at the Beer Emporium, Bristol 12/2/015. Near black, with a slight, off-white, head. Roasted malts, some plain chocolate, fruit cake sweetness and some hops in the finish. Good.

Cask @ Yates’s, Halifax. A light, clear chestnut brown as you might expect given the name! It’s aroma is malty, earthy and woody, with some malts in its taste alongside a very small nuttiness. Dryish flavour but crisp texture.

Cask at the "Summer of Love" Festival at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. Pale amber with a ring of white head; fruity aroma; soft fruity taste with some caramel; and a lingering grassy bitterness to finish. Pleasant but uninspiring.
