Description
The New Old Lompoc opened on May 6th, 2000. But the Old Lompoc Brewery (as it was formerly know) has been producing handcrafted ales and lagers since December 1996, while the tavern has been open since 1993.

The name originally came from the movie ‘The Bank Dick’ starring W.C. Fields and Mae West. Most of the movie took place in the ‘Old Lompoc House’, which was the local watering hole as well as a boarding house.

Our food menu is an excellent array of Northwest pub fare with a great selection of entrees, soups and salads. We have also remodeled the patio and added a sun deck.

An ugly good tasting stout. Black with no head. No lacing. Faint aroma, a little raisin. Flavour is very full, coffee, chocolate, raisin and malt with a good malty finish. Enough bitterness to keep everything from getting too sweet.

Draught. Cloudy orange pour. Aroma is floral hop with a rye bread tinge. Rusky flavour, with hops always popping up. Lekker hop finish

Made for the 4-4-2 football bar. Pour off dark yellow with medium white head. Flavour is a mix, something like a pilsener, something like a pale. The server called it a ’Breslauer’. Hoppy edge and finish.

As Special Draft. Sample from 65 cl. bottle. Hazy, brown colour with a reddish hue. A huge, fluffy off-white head. Sweet aroma with caramel, roasted malts, faint citrus hops. Taste is sweet. Medium body, lively carbonation. Short, sweet finish with roasted malts.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Comes as: "Lompoc Special Draft". Pours orangey brown with a slight haze and a HUGE off-white head, shaving foam style with a long retention. Caramellish nose with some overripe dark fruits as well. Medium body, carbonation is a bit much, overripe dark fruit, subtle roast, some vanilla. Somewhat malt bitter finish. 250113

Got a 22oz bottle of this one. Poured a slightly hazy golden orange color with a slightly off-white head. Aroma was some light citrus notes, but this one was dominated by malts - not sure if it is an older bottle, but I was under the impression that it was this year’s brew. Pretty decent regardless of whatever might have been missing in the hop department.

Bomber from Made in Oregon. 8.0% Pours dark brown/black with a slight beige head. Aroma of veg and treacle. And liquorice. Med + body. Flavor is treacle and liquorice with hints of chocolate. I think there’s more in this, but it’s hard to figure it out. Not the common porter. Finishes more dry than not.

Tap at Fifth Quadrant (NOL) - 07/11/12. Mid black with a good creamy looking tan head. Nose is light roast malt, mineral and light metallic tones. Tastes of roast malt, chocolate, dry and bitter, touch of liqourice, light mineral notes. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, leading to a dry finish, Decent enough stout.

Draught. Black pour with beige head. Yeasty aroma. Flavour is malty and hoppy, well balanced. I didn’t taste the hop varieties, perhaps my palate is not sensitive enough. Roasty touches.
