Description
In 1908 Ernesto Günther and a group of investors founded in the city of Cusco, a branch of the Cervecería Alemana Günther & Tidow. In 1939 Cervecera Alemana Günther & Tido changed its name to Compañía Cervecera del Sur del Perú (Cervesur) and increased its production. In 2000 the company with its plants in Arequipa and Cusco, and with the popular brand Cusqueña, becomes part of the Backus Group (Backus y Johnston), thereby consolidating itself to the point of turning it into a company capable of competing in a globalized environment. Finally, in 2015, the Backus Group becomes part of AB InBev.

35,5cl can from Peru. Pours clear yellow with a small white head. Lightly malty aroma with a light fruitiness. Sweet, but fairly balanced with a hint of dryness and bitterness in the finish. A bit more body than expected and quite drinkable. [Gift from my dad - thanks!]

35,5cl can. Pours pale golden with a small white head. Lightly malty aroma with cereals, hints of cooked vegetables and possibly traces of hops. Sweet and grainy with a hint of souness and a very light bitterness in the finish. A bit watery with a very short aftertaste. Drinkable, but preferably when it’s hot... [Gift from my dad - thanks!]

Really above most of the cut in terms of Latin American lagers. Like the Bintang of South America. Skunky aroma and some sweetness and booze. Aftertaste has some malt as well.

(Bottle 620ml fro Sainsburys) Pours pale golden in colour with a small white head. Light to medium in body. Aroma/taste sweet malt, corn not much else. Definitely does not taste "Premium" to me anyway, but i have also tasted much worse of its type.

A hazed golden wheat beer with a thin white head. In aroma, faint fruity malt with light mineral notes. In mouth, a light fruity wheat beer, with light banana esters, so-so.

Total Wine, Fairfax 330ml (cheap): Pours pale gold with white head. Aroma is macro lager. Taste is slightly sweet and a bit corny. Easy to drink and wasn’t in the least bit offensive.
