Description
Bluestone Brewing is an exciting, eco-friendly family run brewery situated in the foothills of the Preseli Hills in North Pembrokeshire. We produce hand crafted real ales, using local water filtered down through the Bluestone Hills to produce a range of flavoursome Rock Solid Ales. Our ten barrel brewery lives in the front yard of Tyriet Farm, which is still a working farm to this day.

The name Bluestone Brewing Company comes from the local stone that the buildings were built from many years ago. Bluestone is also pretty famous for being mysteriously transported over 250 miles to become Stonehenge over 5000 years ago!

Cask-conditioned at the Beer Emporium, Bristol, 2/7/2015. Deep amber in colour, with a frothy, off-white, head. A touch of toasty malts, hint of liquorice, red berry and citrus fruits, followed by a moderately bitter finish. Good stuff.

500ml bottle: BBD 1 Sep 2015, poured into a UK pint sleeve on 22 Apr 2015. Obtained from a small village shop in Myddle, Shropshire. Good looking beer, clear chestnut/mahogany body with a tanned topping. Malts lead the way in the nose and taste with a pleasant hop bittering finish. Toffee flavoured with a good fruity feel. Solid and flavoursome, the 4.6% ABV suiting it’s body depth and palate nicely.

Cask @ Doctor Duncan’s, Liverpool. Clear deeper amber colour with a small smooth head. Has some malts in aroma and taste, but it’s its smooth texture which is best enjoyed in this ale. There’s some sweetness and a low bitterness.

Hand-pulled pint in The Lych Gate, Wolverhampton on 28th Feb 2015. Trying to be a cask lager/pilsner? Light golden body with a fading white head. Not a lot going on in the aroma or flavour stakes for me. Leaning towards bland in fact. Refreshing enough but not flavoursome or interesting.

Cask, hand-pulled pint in The Pheasant Inn, Wellington Shropshire on 19th Jan 2015. Deep ruby red body with a beige head. Malty and heavy nose with a similar taste, fruity and slightly spiced. Some liquorice notes within the flavours too. I enjoyed it.

Cask half-pint on 6th Nov 2014 at the Shrewsbury CAMRA Beer Festival. Slight haze to the golden hued body, a good white crown that gave off some heavy lacing. Hop laden brew, floral and piney, with a dry bittering finish. Supposed to be an American Style IPA, what ever that means. I thought it OK.
