Our roots are deeply embedded in the hilly fields and farms of northeast Donegal. This is the perfect environment for the way we make beer. We don’t filter or pasteurise, and we let our industrious little friends, the yeast, carbonate the beer naturally during fermentation.
With the opening of K2, our new state-of-the-art facility in nearby Letterkenny in March 2017, the clinking of bottles coming off our line no longer mingles with the bleating of sheep from the surrounding fields. The farmhouse ethos at the core of what we do however remains the same.

Red IPA brewed in Ireland, from tap at Bar Beenhouwer, thanks Meeki! Regularly shaped, pale greyish white, membrane-lacing, closed and stable head, misty pure orange-glowing amber colour – at least the looks are correct for what was intended, in any case. Aroma of toasted peanuts, hard caramel, deep-fried parsley, dried apple peel, vague notes of margarine, pine resin, grapefruit zest and tobacco. Rounded, clean onset, very vague persimmon- and apple-ish notes but hardly any esters, prickly carb with smooth, lightly creamy mouthfeel; softly nutty, thinly caramelly, dryish maltiness with a leafy hop bitter note and even brief grapefruity and piney accents, yet remaining fairly mild in finishing bitterness, with this soft (pea)nuttiness from the malts continuing at equal strength. Balanced, technically correct, but quite soft in hoppiness for this oldskool IPA substyle. Could nonetheless drink this all afternoon on a summery day.

Can in Donegal, thanks to my bro. A thick jet black coloured pour with a fine dark tan head. Opaque. Aroma is earthy roast, charred wood, molasis, dried fruit, dark berries,. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, hazelnut, layered robust dark roast, dark cherry, spicy finish. Palate is semi sweet, oily, moderate carbonation. Really nice old school robust impy stout. Mellow barrel character is well integrated.
