Description
At Kinnegar we pair brewing tradition with a contemporary sense of adventure to produce clean, crisp, full-flavoured farmhouse beers. The brewery is named after the nearby Kinnegar Beach
just north of Rathmullan in County Donegal.
Our roots are deeply embedded in the hilly fields and farms of northeast Donegal. This is the perfect environment for the way we make beer. We don’t filter or pasteurise, and we let our industrious little friends, the yeast, carbonate the beer naturally during fermentation.
With the opening of K2, our new state-of-the-art facility in nearby Letterkenny in March 2017, the clinking of bottles coming off our line no longer mingles with the bleating of sheep from the surrounding fields. The farmhouse ethos at the core of what we do however remains the same.

44cl Blik van OnderNulPuntVijf. Bleekgele kleur, licht troebel, witte kraag. Wat zepig, bloemig, citrus, lichtzoete geur, smaak heeft een hoog Spa Rood-gehalte maar is fris gehopt en daardoor smaakvol. Lichte body. Prima N/A, hier kan ik er meer van drinken.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - cloudy orange to amber with a proportionate, slightly off white head. Nose - plant stalk, light dishcloth, fresh sweat and lime. Taste - lime, green apple skin, plant stalk again. Some cakey rye spice but really dominated by the hop bitterness. Palate - light bodied, good bitterness and good linger. Overall - not as much maltiness as I expected. It really is more hop-driven.

0.44 l can from 'OnderNulPuntVijf', canned in August 2020. Hazy, pale golden with a large, slightly fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, rather fruity and a little resiny aroma of peach, pineapple and a touch of passion fruit. Slightly sweet, rather dry, quite fruity taste of pineapple, lemon peel and a touch of passion fruit, followed by a short, gently bitter, fairly dry finish. Thin body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite tasty, even if already six months old, must be really good when fresh.
