Since mid 2019 has Heineken a minority interest in the brewery. On June 21, 2023, it was announced that Heineken had acquired all shares of the brewery and thus became full owner of the brewery. The takeover coincides with the move of Oedipus.

The brewery and taproom at Gedempt Hamerkanaal 85 were closed on April 14, 2024. The brewery and taproom were moved to Schaafstraat 19, 300 meters further, where the Oedipus Craft Space will open in the early summer of 2024.

0.33 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', bottled in September 2020. Clear, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Slightly sweetish, fairly fruity-grassy and slightly floral aroma of fresh grass, pineapple and lemon peel. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, fairly grassy, gently fruity-floral taste of pineapple, lemon peel, grapefruit, fresh grass and some grains, followed by a short, quite bitter, fairly grassy finish. Thin to medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Oedipus really knows how to brew good, hoppy Lagers.

0.33l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', canned in November 2019. Slightly hazy, very pale straw golden with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, gently fruity-floral aroma of lemon peel, gooseberry and grapefruit. Minimally sweet, quite dry, rather fruity-floral taste of gooseberry, grapefruit and lemon peel, followed by a short, minimally bitter finish. Thin body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite refreshing, definitely way more pleasant than your usual low abv beer.

Sweetish, gently fruity, slightly spicy and a little yeasty aroma of caramel, ginger, nutmeg and some orange peel. Just moderately sweet, slightly bitter, gently fruity, slightly spicy and a little yeasty taste of caramel, ginger, nutmeg, nuts and some bread crust, followed by a short, quite bitter, gently spicy and a little yeasty finish. Thin to medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Unnecessary.

33cl bottle. A almost clear yellow golden beer with a white head. Aroma of lactic fruits, citra, yeast, some herbs. Taste of sour citrus fruits, yeast, lime, high carbonation.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours classic loaded gold, with fine white foam. Aroma is nice and fresh, grassy, some lemongrass. Body is fairly dense, with intense carbonation. A little stickiness. Taste is medium-high sweet, but a nice spicy character. The alcoholic feeling is even stronger than the actual alcohol level. Final is average.

Oedipus Offline White Ale 4.5% Semi-opaque gold with a soapy white head and a citrusy wheat aroma. The body is a tad thin and flavor rough but overall it’s an ok middle of the road wheat beer. BB 20/9/2019

Let’s start with the APA which is a more iffy style to be drinking past its best by date: Oedipus Brewing Mama APA 5% Decent looking copper color with a thick soapy foam kind of head that leaves lots of lacing behind. The aroma is musty malty pine with caramel sweetness but yes it smells over the hill or heat damaged in transit. Full bodied with a crisp dry finish and sharp carbonic rasp. The taste is a sweet fruity grape up front then tangy pine woodsy earthy notes but the malts give it enough sweetness to balance it out. I wonder how this was fresh... BB 11/09/2019...

Sweetish, gently, yeasty-spicy, fruity-floral and a bit herbal-grassy aroma of lemon peel, hay, dill and clove. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, fruity-floral, gently herbal-grassy and a bit yeasty-spicy taste of lemon peel, hay, clove, some dill and a touch of pickles, followed by a short, moderately bitter, gently yeasty-spicy, slightly herbal-grassy and quite dry finish. Almost medium-bodied, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Refreshing and easily drinkable Saison, fairly sessionable.
