Gravity dispense at Pig’s Ear BF, London - 05/12/12. Very dark mahogony brown with a very thin tan head that soon clears to the edge and eventually nyadda. Nose is a little smokey, wood, dark malts, touch of coffee. Taste comprises light chocoalte, touch of booze, sweet dark sugars, toffee fudge, dark fruits. Fuller end of medium bodied, soft carbonation. A touch above average.

Pigs Ear. Clear dark brown beer, residual tan head. Dry palate. Rich dark malts with a trace of chocolate. Repressed dark fruits. Dry finish. Not bad, bit dry.

Cask at Pigs Ear BF 2012, London. Pours rich brown with a fine, brown foam head. Sturdy chocolate aroma, moderate roast. Medium sweet flavor with some gooey chocolate, mellow roasted malts, light earthy bitterness. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sticky to finish with light roast and rich cocoa. Good stout.

Cask@GBBF2012. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is earthy, grassy, grainy and mildly wooden. Flavour is rather similar. Nicely balanced, but not a very special golden ale.

Gravity cask at The Rake, London, during the Cornish Beer Festival. Very clean character overall. Pours clear gold with a white, foamy head. Good balance, perhaps a touch on the sweet side. Notes of wood, light pine. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sticky finish, mild wood and grass, some grapefruit. Good stuff.

Cask@GBBF2011. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, nectar, some mild earthy/herbal notes as well. Quite sweet. Flavour is fruity, floral, wooden and rather bitter floral notes as well. Aftertaste is wood, floral bitterness as well as some slight herbal notes.

From cask. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity and slight citrusy hoppy. Bitter, citrusy and crisp hoppy into a smooth and light fruity finish. Ends dry and slight bitter.

Cask (gravity) @ 27th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2010, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England.Clear medium yellow amber colour with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, mold - fusty - peel nutty. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, nutty, dusty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20101202]
