Bottled. Dark ruby with rich head. Strong aroma of nutmeg, grapefruit and cinnamon. Sweet with short, rounded maltiness. Medicinal finish with a lot of bitterness. Still a bit raw. A lighter version of Traquair Jacobite Ale.

Reddish brown colour, small head. Smooth, hoppy toffee-aroma. Thick sweet mouth-feel. Hoppy, oily, oaky complex flavour with notes of liquorice and oranges. Excellent beer, the bottles are too small!

22 oz. bottle. Pours a big foamy head atop an amber body. First sips are sweet without being cloying (shouldn't have been eating chocolates beforehand, though). There's a slight impression of pear nectar. A bitter hop taste in the back of the mouth mars an otherwise clean finish (or enhances it, as your preference may be). Midway through, I get a more hearty hoppy smell and taste, ending with a more malty profile as it warms. This does have the signs of being a "frontier" beer with its slightly rough hop profile, but a great session beer.

This ale looks like apple juice. Aromas of fruit, grass, and hops. Taste is all hops, with a sweet malt finish. Light. Refreshing.

Bottle. A golden color with a slight reddish tint to it. There is a good balance between the hint of sweetness at the front and leading to a nice Cascade hop finish - citrus end with a spicy note. It's a good beer and one you can keep drinking.

Why do I enjoy American Wheats so much?? I'll even grant that this beer is no diamond. Certainly brewed well, but just another balanced, decent american wheat. For some reason I love it. Still nowhere near Oberon's flavor and complexity, but has a nice crisp character of its own. Light for the style. Has a nice light hops bite. Hallertauer. Yum. Smooth for the most part as it finishes. Has a grassy clean texture. Hint of lemon. Great appearance, cloudy and frothy. The yeast is not prevalant as in Widmers, but instead, there is a light understated wheat taste. Has a light aroma. Light bodied, but the wheat and sediment add enough to make this beer not go too thin. I think my favorite part of this beer, is the complete lack of sweetness. I think that may best define why I love American Wheats. In a world of double and triple the malt, this is a nice vacation.

The aroma is fruity, the color is amber and slightly unclear, and it has a small head. THe flavor is malty with the characteristic Anchor yeast, with notes of fruitiness and a good light bitterness. It prickles the tongue slightly. A really good beer.

Extremely nice clear reddish/amber colour with a white head that disapear not too quickly. I can smell some spice. Taste is bitter with some roastiness. I was little bit surprise considering the colour of the beer but I enjoyed it very much. I can't wait to try other Anchor products!
