SweetWater brewery has been makin’ tasty brews in the heart of the south since 1997. What started as a pipe dream of two college buddies has turned into a dream job full of great adventures and lip-smackin’ beers. What would you expect from a couple of boys with more of a hankering for beers than for books.

Bottle Pours a clear golden amber with a very thick sandy colored frothy head. Aroma is quite citrusy, mostly orange, not as sharp as some others that have a lot of grapefruit in the aroma. Honey and light malts as well. Flavor is plenty of hops but the flavor is soft and easy. As far as IPAs go the easiest one I can remember as far as drinkablility. Feel is soft and smooth, and the trailer is fairly woody and cardboardish. Quite good for the style. Thanks to Captain Cougar for this one.

Thanks to Skaughty for this one! Deep copper color, all the way to the light end of the range for a Brown Ale. Quickly fading head gives way to a slightly sour light malt aroma. Sweet, very little bitterness, but a little thin in the mouthfeel. Drinkable, but this brewery can do better than this.

Thanks to skaughty for the trade. This beer pours a clear dark copper color with a medium thin off-white head. Very thin lacing. Aroma of mild malt, roasted nuts and caramel. Medium-bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Roasty grain character with malt, caramel and nut flavors. The finish is mildly sweet with just enough hops to make it nicely drinkable from start to finish. Overall this is a pretty good Brown. It isn’t big in the flavor department but it is very easy to drink.

Thanks to skaughty for the trade. This beer is a dark gold color with a very thin off-white head. Thin and quick lacing. The aroma has a decent amount of hops, along with some malt and spice. Medium-bodied and crisp with a moderate hops presence, along with a touch of sweet malt. The finish is lightly bitter. This is a straightforward APA that I would try again.

A hazy orange beer with a small disappearing white head. The aroma is lovely sweet and hoppy. The flavor is sweet malty and nicely hopped with notes of oil before a dry hoppy end sets in.

Bottled, thanks SpringsLicker! Hazy golden. Rich grapefruit aroma. Sweet with clean but firm mouthfeel. Pine needle finish with good bitterness. A well balanced IPA, it’s shortcomings in malt character are well masked behind the hops.

Side by side w/ Highland Oatmeal Porter. This was thin compared to the Highland Porter. Huge off white head on a deep brown beer. Aroma was malt/bread/cookie with a flavor that was balanced with a short uninteresting finish.

Copper color with a small head. Nice malty aroma that is backed up by a nicely balanced malt/hop palate. The dry finish is perfect for this beer. Nice Bitter.

This pours out a huge white head over a light hazy yellow body. The berry aroma is present, but not over powering. Lightly sweet flavor with an acidic touch from the fruit. Very light bodied. Needs to be more assertive.
