Can from Beer52. Near black with small beige to tanned head, recedes to a swirl. Big coffee aroma with hint of liquorice and caramel - just the smell would wake you up in the morning!. Taste has these notes but there is a light vanilla noted sweetness that does give a nice balance. Mid-bodied, slick with a light cloyingness in the finish, fine carbonation. Not perfect but overall an interesting breakfast stout.

Growler from LCB. Light clouded chestnut brown with small beige top. Has a nutty, toffee and malty almost brown ale aroma with maybe a hint of honey. Taste is very malty with a slightly undefined fruity tang and a nice bitter floral bite to it with a smooth honey that is not too sweet or overdone. Well brewed and skilled use of adjuncts but I would have liked some more complexity to the malt base. Still its a likeable beer.

Can from EeBria. Pours black with moderate sized slightly fizzy beige head. Aroma of sweetness, lactose, light roast, chocolate, nuts, vanilla. Taste of sweet vanilla and lactose, nuts, chocolate, confected strawberry, light roast. Creamy body, moderate fine carbonation. Sweet and rich dessert beer. Flavoursome.

Can from EeBria. Tasty and much more balanced than I was expecting from the aroma. A little light in body for the ABV. Look: black, moderate sized fluffy head; looks the part Nose: coffee, maple and cinnamon come through clearly, some roastiness and chocolate, hint of light sour berries. Not sure this is going to be balanced but its all in the taste. Taste: chocolate and maple dominate, then hints of coffee, roast and cinnamon with liquorice in the finish. Nice - it works! Palate: on the lighter end of medium bodied and not as smooth as I would like.

Can from lowcostbeer.com, still one month in date. Pours hazy orange-gold, small white head, nice retention. Aroma is very tropical with orange, passionfruit and apricot notes coming through. Sweet with a full mouthfeel and a soft to zingy carbonation. Soft tropical and stone fruit dominate, mild bitterness. For a DIPA it probably is average but still very enjoyable.

Keg at brewdog lothian road. Pours black, nose is chocolate, vanilla, coconut, coffee, meaty, liquorice, taste is chocolate, roasted coffee, oak, vanilla, quite boozy.

330ml can. Pours slightly hazy dark gold with a small head. Aroma is slightly ashy sour lemon and lime. Taste has sharp sour lemon and lime, with a little whisky. Like a grown up Sprite.
