Description
Siren Craft Brew exists to encourage more people to enjoy, fall for and experiment with craft beer. The Sirens of Greek mythology would entice mariners with their magical songs. Their voices would entwine into a complex, layered melody. At Siren Craft Brew, we work in a similar way, combining four ingredients that interact together in magical ways to create our ales. Each beer is individual, overflowing with flavour, aroma and texture. Each holds its own secret. Each is a little dangerous. Liquid Mistress, Under Current, Sound Wave and Broken Dream are here to tease, sway and persuade. They gently beckon you to a new world of taste. Let yourself be carried away. Be enticed…

375ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with minimal brown head. Aroma of bourbon, oak, coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice. Taste is very rich, sweet, prominent bourbon and oak, coffee, liquorice, dark chocolate, dried fruits, the coconut is there too, had to look for it, boozy alcohol notes. Full bodied, smooth.
Wow, what an incredible beer. And 72 months (6 years) in the barrel is one of the longest ageing periods I've seen.

Jet black stout: apparently a nitro. Smallish slightly unstable 1cm head. Sweet milk coffee with chocolate / cacao on the nose. Sweet chocolate espresso on the palette. Nutty. Not too sweet. Almost peaty smoky flavor in there. Good! Not very intense.

375ml bottle. Slightly hazy dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of dried fruits, raisins, date, figs, caramel. Taste is quite sweet, oaky, red wine, bourbon, caramel, figs, dates, raisins, boozy notes. Medium bodied, smooth. Very nice, if a fair bit sweeter than I remember previous vintages being.

Can from the Asdas. Nose is earthy, coconut, wafer, chocolate, hint of catering chocolate. Taste is ash, coconut, woody, slight sour note, leading to a sweet milk chocolate finish.

The heavy opening ash notes, stop it being to cloying. But it's not very nice.

Can from Gedeelde Vreugde. Cloudy black, stable, foamy, dark beige head. Complex aroma of coffee variations: coffee bean, cappuccino, mocha (biscuit), Kahlúa, chocolate sauce, candied date, prune. Taste has sweet candied date & fig in a thick dark-chocolatey, pecan-nutty malt body; a bitter layer of coffee & mocha, some cream and a vague hint of umami soy sauce. Soft earthy hops in the finish, lingering sweet mocha, cream and warming coffee liqueur-like alcohol. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Rich, creamy and quite complex but lacking a bit more bitter roastiness.
