Kingstone Brewery is a four barrel micro brewery located in Tintern, in the heart of the Wye Valley. Our real ales are adapted from traditional recipes to suit modern pallets. From hearty IPA’s to quaffable bitters and golden hoppy ales. We offer a beer for every occasion.
We here at Kingstone are unwilling to compromise on the traditional brewing process, therefore we choose to hand brew, and hand bottle our ales using traditional ingredients. Our beers are unfiltered, unpasteurised and bottle conditioned to develop a fuller flavour, finer bubble and more subtle texture!

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise, London. Pours clearish brown with a light, off-white head. Moderate burnt toast nose. Light to medium sweet flavor with dirt, burnt toast, sugars and burnt plastic. Faint roast. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Earthy finish with rubber and faint cocoa. Not awesome.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 10/12/2012. Dark brown with a slight, off-white head. Sweet, caramel and chocolate aroma with some spice in the background. Flavour had more of the same with some dark fruits, and dryish, warming alcohol finish. Good.

Cask-conditioned at the South Wales Beeriodical, the Seven Stars, Bristol 8/11/2012. Reddish amber with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of red fruits, with a touch of caramel and leafy hop. Sweetish. Flavour with more caramel and berries, leading to a moderately bitter finish. Good.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 13/10/12. Badge simply stated ’Kingstone - Stout’ I didn’t record any mention of ’No. 1 Premium’ listed as 4.4% so clearly the same beer. Very dark mahogony brown vergeing on black . Roast malt nose, a little thin, not a lot else coming out. Tastes of milk chocolate and roast malt, good combination and well balanced. Medium bodied leading to a dry finish. Decent enough stout.

500ml Bottle conditioned: best before 3rd May 2013, poured into my Abbot Ale glass tankard during a ‘Random Tasting Evening’ in Aug 2012. Deep amber towards brown body, with a slight haze because of the pour being interrupted: on top a good crown of beige bubbles. Both the nose and taste were a pleasant blend of fruity hops and semi-sweet malty molasses: a nicely balanced brew without really testing your taste buds. Medium bodied and well carbonated, not bad at all.

Pigs Ear. Clear amber beer. Light dry palate. Toffee malt. Some balance provided by peachy orange fruit. Not too bitter but a bit dry.

Cask at the Bree Louise, London. Pours clear gold with a foamy, off-white head. Some doughy malts in the nose, light toast. Light sweet flavor, kind of nutty with light caramel and subtle diacetyl, dough. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Mild sweet finish, faintly nutty now with some light, leafy bitterness and wet wood. Pretty mediocre.

Cask at the Bree Louise, London. Pours clear amber with a foamy, white head. Lots of twigs in the nose, toasty with mild fruits, too. Medium sweet flavor with doughy malts, toasty sugar and creamy, toasty malts and semi-dark fruits. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Perhaps some caramel or toffee to finish, lightly sticky. A sweet but basic bitter.
