Description
Opened December 2005 based on Kinsons Farm, Whitebrook, Monmouth. Moved towards the end of 2007 to their current address.
Kingstone Brewery is a four barrel micro brewery located in Tintern, in the heart of the Wye Valley. Our real ales are adapted from traditional recipes to suit modern pallets. From hearty IPA’s to quaffable bitters and golden hoppy ales. We offer a beer for every occasion.
We here at Kingstone are unwilling to compromise on the traditional brewing process, therefore we choose to hand brew, and hand bottle our ales using traditional ingredients. Our beers are unfiltered, unpasteurised and bottle conditioned to develop a fuller flavour, finer bubble and more subtle texture!

Medium sweet flavor with toasted sugars, grapes, biscuits, cereal, brown bread, slight brown sugar. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with sugary toasted cereal, corn flakes, toasty bread, grains, touhs kf burnt caramel, little to no bitterness, mellow ripe berries. Extremely simplistic but not altogether bad.

Cask at the Anderson, Fortrose, 19/10/13. Clear dark amber with a moderate off white head. Nose carries a fruity tang, malts, classic twiggy affair. Taste comprises apple skins, bready malts, orchard fruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry bitter finish. Mediocre old school bitter type thing ... yawn!

Gravity cask at Bedford Beer Festival, 2013. Mid to dark brown - light for a stout. Massive tan head for a gravity beer. Aromas of liquorice, fresh coffee, smoke and earth. Sweet taste carries the flavours superbly. Bitter finish and aftertaste rounds it off nicely. Tastes stronger than it is. Beer of the festival for me.

I like this brewery, so it was a treat to see them at Bedford Beer Festival. Dark gold/light brown with lively white head. Citrus and bread aroma. Lighter notes of toffee and astringency. Taste was all over the place. Sweet, bitter and sour in varying shades. Bitter/sour wins out in finish. Ok but not exceptional.

500ml Bottle conditioned: 8 days passed it’s BBD when poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 23 May 2013. Lovely looking brew: bright amber with a huge off-white head, even though it was poured slowly and carefully to ensure the sediment stayed in the bottle. Aroma of an English Summers day in a floral garden (yes, I know it’s brewed in Wales). This is a well balanced beer, the malts giving it a slightly sweet front with the hops providing a mini citrus and bittering finish. Medium bodied and almost smooth on the palate, the 5.8% ABV hidden nicely within the flavours and texture of the brew, a fine beer and by far the best of the three I’ve had from this brewery.
