Established in 2004

Gift from brewer Carine Kelder, the beer is (for the time being) not available for sale. Just a bit darker as gold, very steady creamy head. Smoky aroma, but certainly not agressive. Malty, creamy and a bit soapy. Just a bit smoky flavor, more smoked cheese as smoked ham. Apricot. Very flowery. Just a hint of metal. The smokiness is very subtle. not the harsh smokiness you’ll find in Heller-Schlenkerla beers. The balance nears perfection, absolutely clean in the aftertaste. Just a tad thin. A very good beer, maybe not suited for the inexperienced palate, although it is very much a beginners’ Rauchbier. This excellent beer deserves a good spot on the Dutch beer market!

The only bottom fermented beer from this brewery, brewer Gert Kelder said. Straight from the lager tank. Only a touch of yeast in the aroma. Malty falvor with some roasted malt. A distant fruitiness. Just a tad thin, but shows promise. Re-rate: same brew, bottled: caramel, butter and peach in aroma and flavor. Full bodied. Just a hint of diacetyl. Nice and easy going typical Dutch bock. the 2007 version is totally different from former brews. Still bottom fermented, but with loads of roast and dark chocolate in the aroma. Fairly dry with a long roast aftertaste, in which flowery hops are clearly traceable. More a stout than a Dutch bock, but I like it.

Orange, some hops as a touch of yeast in the aroma. Golden color, cloudy. Soft but lively. Fruit, especially orange in the flavor. Just a hint of tartness. Less hoppy as you might expect, the emphasis is on drinkability and freshness. Full bodied, nice summer ale. Change of recipe:bottle, best before 01.07.07; fermented with yeast from Grafschafter Brauhaus and spiced with Zatec hops. Orange blonde color, thick creamy head. Citrus and a hint of citrus in the aroma. Medium to full bodied, slightly yeasty. Orange, grassy hoppy flavor. Malty. Grassy citric firm hoppy aftertaste. Very good! Another version, bottle, best before 01.09.07. Fermented with Chouffe yeast, spiced with Zatec hops. Totally different aroma. Orange and yoghurt. Hoppy, grassy flavor with orange, buttery. orange and yoghurt in the aftertaste, but also a firm amount of flowery and citric hops. What a difference between the brews (both tasted witin the hour), but in both cases a well made beer. The rating is an average of the brews tasted. Coevorder Blond version, best before 4/08, tasted 28.12.09, so 2 years old. Gusher. Pours a huge head. Hay and citrus in the aroma. Hay, citrus and vanilla in the satisfyingly hopbitter flavor. Just a hint of tartness. has kept remarkably well. (6 3 7 3 13 = 3.2)

Should me 9% ABV plus in stead of the "normal" 8,5, according to the brewer. No head, still very young. No label available at the moment. Orange blonde color. Malty aroma with orange and some licorice. Very malty flavor with loads of fruit, especially orange. Also some licorice and pepper present. Poor lacing, probably because of its youth. Already tasty and showing promise. Should be fine in a few months, will definitely re-rate. Same brew, tasted 18.01.05. Soft malty aroma with hints of apple and orange fruit. Malty and somewhat milky flavor with mandarin. Alcohol present, but not too loud. Just a bit creamy. A walnut-like bitterness in the background. Some late hops. New brew, tasted 18.01.04: 3 weeks old, 8,5% (less sugar used). Rather flat aroma. Just a bit of malt and milk only. Vinous flavor, malty, some curacao. Again some late hops, but the wine-like chracater prevails. Less alcohol as in the former brew. 2007 brew. Bottled. Pineapple in the aroma. Sweetish, alcoholic with pineapple and oily, flowery hops. Slightly perfumed. Needs a bit more body. 2011 brew: soft hoparoma. Citrus, pineapple with some soft cellar notes. Malt flavor, medium bodied. Hops coming through. Grassy, citric finish. Soft but with a hint of alcohol. Surprisingly dry. Is Chouffe yeast used?

Brow color, small frothy head. Orange aroma, somewhat yeasty. Full bodied, malty flavor with some orange. Just a touch of caramel. Somewhat yeasty bitter aftertaste with some milk. Likeable.

Straight from the lagertank at the brewery. Lovely powerful grassy aroma, with a touch of citrus. Malty, somewhat grassy pleasant hopbitter flavor. Maybe a bit thin, but a very well brewed beer with the emphasis on hop character. Bottle, bought at the brewery. Orange blonde, cloudy. Orange, traubenzucker and milk in the aroma. Somewhat tart flavor with grapefruit, traubenzucker and mandarine curacao. Slightly flowery. Hint of alcohol. Medium bodied. Less hop character as I had straight from the lager tank, but it is there, especially in the aftertaste. Good!

Bottle. Lightly smoked, somewhat sugary aroma with hints of chestnut. Sweet, malty, almost sugary flavor. Lightly smoked with peach and plums. Hint of chestnut. A late flowery hopbitterness that lingers on in the long aftertaste. Very well balanced, both smoky and fruity ale.

Bottle, bought at the brewery. Golden color with a touch of pink, steady head. Slightly flowery, citric, somewhat sulphury aroma. Almost dry, medium to full bodied. Flowery, biscuity and citric flavor. A firm hopbitterness. Light hopbitter, somewhat yeasty aftertaste. A firm maibock in the best Bavarian tradition. A later brew, tasted straight from the lagertank promised to be even better. The 2008 version, tasted from the lagertank is spiced with Czech hops, and has a firm grassy citric hopbitterness, with 45+ IBU and promised to be a very good German type maibock. A 2008 bottle, tasted in 2010 is still good. Soft flowery aroma. Flowery citric hopbitter flavor. Long hopbitter finish. The hops are still there. Just a touch of alcohol. Just the aroma shows the age of this beer. The 2011 version is extremely well hopped with notes of nutmeg both in aroma and flavor.

Golden color, cloudy. Banana, but especially butter in the aroma. Citric flavor. Thinnish and a bit sharp with mango, grapes and banana. Sweetish and very fruity, this beer. Thirst quencher, the herbalness is almost non existant. Fruit and butter in the aftertaste. Nice try. A quick taste in 2008 gave loads of banana and pineapple. A 2011 version, brewed in Veenhuizen, gave pineapple and tangerine in the aroma. Pale blonde and hazy. Malky flavor with cellar notes. Tangerine and hints of banana. Pineapple.

Sold as Klokhenne’s Witbier. Pale and cloudy, small foamy head. Chalky, flowery, just a bit buttery aroma. Mouthfeel seems thick and buttery at first, but the beer is in fact below medium bodied. Coreander (a bit too much even) with citrus and a hint of butter in the flavor. Just a bit of rest sugars. Not a bad attempt.
