Description

Bottle. Dark brown color. Malt, dried fruit and just a hint of smoke in the aroma. Malty sweet, soft roasty flavor with raw bourbon. Just a hint of smoke in the aftertaste. Bourbon barrels and this beer are not a very happy marriage, Try it with De Heer van Gramsbergh. Still a decent beer, though.

Bottle from the source. Dark amber color. Malt, dried fruit, smoke, aceton, band aids and vinous notes in the aroma. Malty sweetish vinous flavor with smoke, band aids and iodine. Not the best possible match, delicately smoked beer with cognac barrels.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malt, smoke, caramel, a hint of wood in the aroma and flavor. Fairly dry, some malt character. Hint of cacao even. Well balanced, like most Mommeriete beers. Nice.

Dark brown colour, minimal creamy beige-ish head; aroma and taste of dried plum, raisins, maybe some dried apricot, too, biscuits, herbal and slight floral honey notes; great one!

Cola-coloured beer with a yellow rim. Sweet-roast nose. Taste has something of cola indeed, sweet, but with New World hops. Medium bodied. Nice, hoppy stout.

27 September 2018. Birthday Antwerp Pub Crawl - cheers to Anke! At Billie's Bier Kafetaria.
Pours hazy black with a lasting, stable, thin, beige head. Aroma of oak, coffee roast, ham, fondant, salted peanut, soy, toast. Medium malty sweet onset, chocolatey & peanutty, umami hints of soy & smoky ham, a bit woody; light roasted bitter middle wirth faint, rather 'bland' coffee pad. Malty finish, a bit toasty & faintly herbal hoppy; lingering smoke & ash. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Perhaps a tad too 'balanced': this could use more punch.
