On gravity at the Reading Beer Festival, 01/05/09. Amber coloured with a slight, off-white head. Sweetish mild with some red fruit, a hint of lichen and not much else. came off worst amongst the milds sampled at the festival, and not a beer to be revisited.

Cask gravity at The Hop Pole, Easter Beer Festival, Aylesbury, Bucks in the company of Loz, Chris O and Ruth 10-04-09 Pours dark brown with reddy glints with an off-white filmy head. There is a touch of sourness on the nose but only a tiny amount. Some mild coffee and chocolate, this beer started out great, slipped a little but then I started to enjoy it again. A6 A3 F7 P4 Ov13 3.3

Bottle. Golden beer with a strong frothy head. The aroma is lightly hopped, and the flavour is malty, smooth and hopped. Overall a very nice drinkable beer.

Cask, Newcastle Arms. Rich Golden colour. Pleasant citrus aroma with biscuity malts. Quite full mouthfeel. Nice citrus hop action in the flavour which was pretty tasty on the whole and finished dryish. Enjoyable and sinkable stuff.

500ml bottle from Waitrose Towcester. Flat when opened, poured blackish brown without any head; aroma has some chocolate and lots of farmyard; thin with toasted malt flavours and some chocolate; and a sour bready finish. Different, and not entirely pleasant. Perhaps it was just a duff bottle.

Cask, handpump at FFTMC, Oxford, 13-11-08 Pours chesnut brown, another fruity beer that like the Idle Dog tried beforehand is also quite tangy. This beer has the added bonus of some seasonal spiciness thrown in for good measure. Once again Im a little bit frustrated that the beer like my first one is served a little too warm for my liking, I should have tackled them about this but I was in company and it was a bit busy. A5 A3 F7 P3 OV13 3.1

Cask (handpump) @ The KIT (Kelham Island Tavern), Sheffield, Bedfordshire England S3 8GG.Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, light to moderate hoppy, lemon, grass notes. Flavor is moderate sweet amd bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. (270708)

Cask at GBBF08. Almost black colour, red shine. Roasted aroma, hint of urine. Good roasted flavour, slightly sweet to balance. Hint of bread and urine. 5 3 5 3 11
