Well folks, it is the end of an era. With our lease due early next year and the rising cost of production we have been pondering our future. As luck would have it someone has come along and offered to buy us out. We have decided to take up their offer so over the next few weeks the brewery kit will be moving to West Wales.

Cask @ The Grove, Huddersfield. Dark reddish-brown with an extremely thin head. Crisp and smooth tasting, with some chocolate in its light roasted malt character.

Gravity cask at the Garibaldi Hotel, Northampton. Extremely brown, almost black with tiniest bit of head. Coffee, blackberries, charcoal, not so much of the promised salted caramel but still lush aroma. Sweet taste with some unexpected floral hop and, yes, a nice gooey caramel flavour. Some roasted malt in the bittersweet aftertaste. Medium silky body. One of those beers that improves with each sip. Nice.

On cask at the Bow Bar. Deep brown rather than black in colour. Decent head. Biscuits and light charcoal on nose. Confirmed on taste and the merest hint of chocolate. Medium bodied with a creamy yet crunchy texture and a long dry finish. A decent porter and plenty of taste for normal-ish ABV.

On cask at the Bow Bar. Appearance - clear golden with a generous head. Nose - banana and dried orange peel. Malty too. Taste - more of the same. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - this didn’t quite have expected carbonation for the style.

On cask @ the Bow Bar. Golden with a decent head. Light grain and caramel and both the nose and palate. It’s light to medium bodied. The finish is dry and balanced. Decent texture through the middle section. Nothing particularly special but definitely drinkable.

On cask @ the Bow Bar. Golden amber with a decent head. It definitely is distinctively limey on the nose. Some grain and apple notes too. More of the same on the taste. Light to medium bodied with a creamy yet dry texture and a long dry finish. Solid and interesting.
