Cask gravity at The Hop Pole (shop not pub) Aylesbury, Bucks, Thursday 8th January 2015 Described as a white/pale stout, so I have to say style wise I am somewhat flummoxed, though with the addition of wheat I thought perhaps it should sit slightly uncomfortably in that category, however I am perfectly happy if someone feels that it needs to go elsewhere. This was pretty decent. Smooth with the wheatiness showing a little, not getting much of the sea salt but I guess it was always going to be added sparingly, it actually has a steady smooth sweetness. Good. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.5

Cask handpump at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks Thursday 8th January 2015 Pours amber in colour with a slight haze and a small off-white filmy head. Fruity, a bit warm, middling bitterness, its still drinkable but I reckon its getting towards the end of the cask. Not sure what style this is aiming for but it ain’t so very hoppy (more malty) and looks and tastes like a fairly humdrum bitter. Ok. A5 A2 T6 P3 Ov11 2.7

Had this cask, gravity at Hop Pole, Aylesbury (shop), Thursday 6th November 2014 Didn’t really take much note of colour but think it might have been amber as I recall. Taste wise it didn’t really grab me the Paradox was better. I guess it had a hoppy element but I found it a bit muddy and indistinct, a little toffee and a bit of fruit, not great.
