Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear 2014. It pours clear mahogany brown with a tiny off-white head. The nose is toasty, milk chocolate, earth, mild roast, rich spice, candied fruits and Christmas pudding. The taste is bitter-sweet, milk chocolate, earth, charred wood, earth, ginger, leather, caramel, toast, light warmth and caramel. Medium body and fine carbonation. All comes together rather well. Nice work from these guys.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Almost clear gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and semi dry. A little fine carbonation. Light pale malts. Dry floralness. Modest citrus. Light dry finish. Not the best showcase for this hop but an okay beer.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Almost clear deep amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry with a light crispness. The malts are a little sweet, balanced by bitterish citric peel. Little spice, not overdone. Dried fruit sweetness before a light semi dry finish. Prett tasty.

Gravity cask at Bedford Beer Festival. Mid-gold with a slight haze. Very little head. Luscious aroma of apple, pine, vinegar and wood. Savoury-bitter taste with a hoppy bitter aftertaste and finish. Weaker palette than I like but very well done nonetheless.
